this a really dark beer with a major emphasis on the toasted roasted malt with a slight cocoa flavor. the beer is very full bodied with a nice look head. the astringent flavor lingers at the end. TheBeerOrg (2145) - Louisville, Kentucky, USA - JAN 23, 2013

Best Magic Hat beer that i have tried. Malty and smooth with a deep robust color and head. rajendra82 (1101) - Alpharetta, Georgia, USA - JAN 22, 2013
The beer poured out promising, looking dark brown to black, with a small head. The aromas were dominated by the carbonation at first, but opened up into chocolate and coffee upon prolonged inspection. The taste was somewhat disappointing to me, as the coffee, toffee, and chocolate flavors were nice and clean, but they felt diluted due to the thin and tinny mouthfeel. I m glad I only bought a single. A case of what could have been. scarletfire65 (1491) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - JAN 20, 2013
Bottle from Winter Variety Pack. Deep brown, almost black pour. Aroma of sweet roasted malts, coffee, cocoa powder, sherry. Very smooth palate, great roasty flavors, more cocoa and coffee, smoke, licorice. Finishes smooth and dry, very well balanced. Nicely done.

Poured out of the bottle Black with a huge and foamy tan head. The aroma was of toasted malts and maybe some chocolate. Taste smoke and roasted malts chocolate and coffee. Some hops bitterness to it. MorganBaughman (147) - Long Beach, Mississippi, USA - JAN 20, 2013
We had this beer at the 2013 Tops of the Hops in Biloxi, MS. It tastes like coffee and chocolate. Pretty good. DSG (15119) - Tel Aviv, ISRAEL - JAN 20, 2013
Bottle shared at a tasting at kerenmk’s place. Black with a nice bubbly light brown head. Roasty aroma of dark chocolate, a bit of dark fruit liqueur and light vinous hints. Flavor of dark chocolate, a bit of fruity notes and nice roastiness. Medium-bodied. A very nice Stout. WarChef1 (24) - North Ridgeville, Ohio, USA - JAN 20, 2013
Had this out of a bottle. Poured nice. Head was a little thin i thought. Aroma smelled of slight chocolate and mild roast coffee. Appearance was dark but when held up to a light a lot came through. Mild carbonation which was expected. Taste was lightly sweet. some bitter chocolate. Slight creaminess. Balanced with hop bitterness. Not a bad stout overall. obguthr (6587) - Staunton, Virginia, USA - JAN 19, 2013
