Malty in the chocolate malt balls kind of way, like Whoppers candy. A little thin and one dimensional, but a pleasant enough stout that goes down easy jtclockwork (17770) - , New Jersey, USA - AUG 19, 2014

Poured from bottle into pint glass
Appearance – Pours a nearly pitch black colored brew with a billowy tan head. The head has a good level of retention, fading slowly to give a nice level of lacing.
Smell – The aroma is quite nice and delicious. It is heaviest of a good deal of coffee some sweet caramel and some chocolate aromas. Mixed with these aromas are lighter notes of a oatmeal as well as vanilla aroma.
Taste – The flavors begin with a strong roasted malt and oat flavor mixed with some sweet caramel flavors. As the flavors advance further vanilla come to the tongue. These linger along and as the taste advances more toward the end with some flavors of a bitter coffee flavor coming in. In the end, with the roastiness fading a bit, one is left with a pleasant, dark yet somewhat sweet flavor left to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel- The body of the beer is rather average in terms of creaminess with a carbonation level that is slightly below average. A little bit more creaminess in the body would have been better for the style, but considering the abv. and drinkability that is afforded by the brew, it is overall quite good.
Overall –A quite tasty and balanced stout at only 5.7 % abv. The blend of flavors and their transitions are all very nice.

not a beer for me nothing wrong with the beer but i am not a dark beer if you are then this might be the beer for you AcctError309270 (106) - Michigan, USA - JUL 21, 2014
Bottle. Pours black with medium tan head. Smells of dark chocolate, coffee, and malt. Medium body and carbonation. Taste up front is slightly sweet like dark chocolate, which is quickly overpowered by a sourness similar to tart cherries or plums. A little tart for my taste but not bad overall.

Dark brown pour, thin beige head. Medium toast, light coffee, prunes and molasses. A tad thin. A little odd. MadRobin (2989) - Silver Spring, Maryland, USA - JUL 9, 2014
Poured from 12 oz. bottle at Gilly's Beer & Fine Wine in Rockville, MD.
Opaque, brown-black with small khaki head and light tan head and good lacing.
Aroma of caramel, chocolate, roasted malt, mild coffee and mild dark fruit (mostly berries).
Taste of roasted malt, berries, chocolate, caramel, dark fruit and mild roasted coffee. A straightforward sweet stout--not as complex as my description makes it sound.
Medium/light body and medium/high carbonation.

(bottle - 12 oz - 2013 vintage) Dark black pour with a puffy tan head. Rich roasted coffee and burnt malt aroma. Flavor starts bitter and roasty with a heavy bitter aftertaste. A bit thin bodied but good roasty flavor. TXBadger (2811) - Dallas, Texas, USA - JUN 5, 2014
Pours a dark black almost like oil, with tan head. Roasted malts, cocoa, and some dark fruits on the nose; follows onto the palate. Finishes with an interesting roasty note.
