Pours rich black with fine head of tiny tan bubbles. Nose is dry and rich dark cocoa. Taste is black coffee with just a hint of sugar on the tip, sweetness broadens and resolves with good bitters at the end. The body is smooth just a slight bit of friskiness. nick76 (4399) - Tampa, Florida, USA - NOV 22, 2012
The aroma is burnt and toasted with chocolate coffee adjunct malt and cola. The appearance is brown with a tan head. The taste is like the aroma with a weak bitter finish. The palate is a but thin. Overall an average stout but ok. Scipio (1077) - Palatine, Illinois, USA - NOV 21, 2012
Pours black with a medium sized darker tan head that fades quickly. Aroma is mostly a mixture smokiness and licorice, with some roasted malts and some coffee in there as well. The taste loses some of the smoky appeal, but retains much of the initial impressions I gained from the smell. I also get a bit of fruitiness as well, that being some cherry. Hints of chocolate as well. This has an oliy texture with a body that isn’t exactly light, but by no means heavy either. The only fault that I can find is that there isn’t to much of an aftertaste except for kind of a vinegary bitterness, which I don’t actually mind. I’m very happy with this one. Its one of the best seasonal beers that I’ve had this so far early holiday season.

Smells of mild roasted barley and iced coffee. Tastes like smooth, slightly sweetened coffee. Mouthfeel is a bit thin and carbonation somewhat prickly. DANEgerous (96) - Texas, USA - NOV 19, 2012
Deep black with very little red tinge when held to light and a tan head, sadly very little aroma so my hopes got down down the beer. Unfounded was my doubt it is a blast of bitter near burnt grain, toast, spices and even note of orange and anise.
