Bottle. Nothing too exciting, just your average stout. Too thin of a palate for a stout. Some notes of bittersweet chocolate and roasted malt. Funky nose. ajnepple (6621) - Denver, Colorado, USA - MAR 3, 2014
12 oz bottle from Evergreen Discount into a pint glass. Black appearance with light sediment. Light brown head that diminishes to a thin ring and leaves light lacing. Aroma of milk chocolate, roasted malts, coffee, light vanilla and light fruits. Similar flavor, rich and fairly sweet, with light bitterness. Medium body, smooth and creamy with soft carbonation. Pretty straight forward stuff, but it works for me. ScipioA (405) - Boston, Massachusetts, USA - FEB 25, 2014
Pours out black with a big tan head that sticks around for a while, this is a great looking beer. Roasted, nutty, and fruity aromas waft up out of the mug. The flavor is quite sweet and fruity, with a fairly low share of roastiness I usually associate with a stout. Some tanginess, from the hops perhaps? Roasted flavors come through in the aftertaste, but as an odd ashy sensation. Decent mouthfeel, not quite up to the claims in the copy but still a pleasant, thick stout. Light sweet notes. A little roasty.
Looks lighter like a Porter or almost a brown ale. Taste is light. Malty. A little roastiness. A little alcohol and a little dull hops. Palate is light but smooth sort of like... plasticy ChapStick note on the finish.
Overall this is an OK beer... but its lacking in execution. Hops seem off and its too malty. Also not enough body for a stout... definitely drinks like a porter or even a brown ale. Plastic note kills this finish. Oh well. Its karma for only trusting rate beer. Alpha10 (757) - Ontario, CANADA - FEB 20, 2014
2014/02/20 - Pours an opaque black colour with a two finger, frothy, tan head that quickly reduces to a lingering surface film and leaves moderate lacing. Aroma is roasted malts, cereal and cocoa Pours a black color with a decent tan head that fades to nits of lacing. Taste is similar to nose; lots of roasted notes, coffee and bittersweet chocolate. Mouthfeel is silky with smooth carbonation and a bitter, slightly drying finish. Nicely balanced, but nothing special.

Light caramel and roasted malts in the flavor. A smooth, mellow, and nicely balanced stout. It is not very smoky, and is pretty light on the palate. The aroma is nothing special, but it does taste good. Bif (2245) - St. Charles, Missouri, USA - FEB 15, 2014
Pours a black color with a decent tan head that fades to nits of lacing. Aroma of roasted malt, trace of chocolate with a bit of bitterness mixed in. taste follows with roasted malt, slightly burnt and bittersweet chocolate. Nice bitterness and a dry finish. Fairly full body and nice creamy texture. Enjoyable stout but expected a bit more character. Bebum (993) - Massachusetts, USA - FEB 14, 2014

A near dark beer. It pours a very small head and leaves only a very small trace of lacing. A descent aroma that has hints of coffee, burnt wood, toasted cereal, with a bitterness. Ok flavor that is very similar to the aroma. Not as flavorful as I would have liked it to be, felt a little flat. Had somewhat of a slightly sour finish. I would drink it again if it was offered to me but I wouldn’t seek it out. Not worth $10 a six pack to me. Not bad, not great only ok.
