Bottle at home in Salisbury. Pours.ear, rich red-brown with a frothy, fading tan head. Nose has toasty and bready malts to go along with a dose of milk chocolate. Medium sweetflavor with burnt popcorn, milky chocolate, some strong roast and filter coffee. Medium bodied with fine carbonation and silky texture. Decent balance to finish, some chalky cocoa, earthy bitterness, charred malts, wet leaves, burnt toast. Starts a bit awkwardly but finishes well. jtclockwork (17070) - , New Jersey, USA - AUG 19, 2014

Lighter in color for a stout also with some odd spice notes. It changes from being really nice to really bad each passing drink. BeerandBlues2 (13697) - Escondido, California, USA - JAN 19, 2014

This brew pours an inky black color with a medium tan head that dissipates steadily. Stringy lacing. Aroma of malt, chocolate and a bit of hops. Light-bodied with a roasty character and flavors of sweet malt, dark chocolate and slightly peppery hops. The finish is mildly bitter with a chocolatey aftertaste. Proof that Magic Hat can make a decent beer if they put their minds to it.
