3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Small tan head atop dark mahogany body. Aroma is rich and cocoa, slightly roasty. Taste is roasty chocolate, with a strong bitter aftertaste, more chicory than hops. Not as rich as I’d expect

On tap. Poured a dark black with a brownish head. Subtle aromas and tastes of light chocolate and roasted malts. Body was a little on the watery side.

2.6 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Serviceable drinakble stout. A half a year past expiry, I don’t believe it made a difference. Mellower stout which was nice, also noticeable watery. Refreshing. On sweeter side, Chocolate malts, modestly bitterness in mid-sip. Dark colour, understated coffee and roast.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
The aroma holds heavy notes of dark chocolate and espresso. Smaller notes of yeast, toasted nuts and caramel.
Very dark, sparkling clear stout. Only when held up to a halogen bulb can one take in the lovely crimson hue. Small, fizzy, khaki colored head with decent lacing. Mostly, but not fully diminishing.
Very well-balanced beer. I don’t know why it’s classified as a sweet stout. Bursts of cocoa and coffee up front. A small hop presence on the backside. Just enough, is the hop addition, to perfectly balance the beer. Overall flavor is a bit thin for a stout.
Medium-bodied with a watery mouthfeel. Fizzy carbonation. Short, crisp, clean, dry finish.
Very good, easy drinking stout. A Summer Stout if there is such a thing.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle from Half Time. Pours dark brown with gigantic light tan head and tan lace all over the place. Aroma of malt, chocoff, cognac, slightly sweaty armpit. Tastes very malty, rich, with huge chocoff prunes, cognac. Palate is firm, medium, rich. Not as complex as other stouts I’ve had, but a very interesting beer, and definitely one I’d seek out again.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Jet black; dark brown, miscellaneous head, some lace. Coffee and black chocolate nose, burnt malt, roasted crusts. Taste is stale, cold coffee, with a bit of sugar, and a forgotten cigarette ashtray alongside. Sounds horrible, but it isn't really so. There's quite some hops too, but they get a battering from the roasted malts. Not really that well-bodied, but a slick mouthfeel. Long, slightly bitter, ash-like aftertaste. A pretty typical stout. Not bad by any means.
