Bottle. Pours amber with an off white head. Sweeter malty aroma, with toasty and toffee notes, and a light fruity hint. The flavor has sweet malts, toasty notes, a hint of rye, and some light hoppy bitterness. Nice. DrSilverworm (9672) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - AUG 29, 2011
12oz bottle, thanks to robotopera and his fall Magic Hat variety pack. Mostly clear dark orange color, light tan head fading to minimal. Some head. This isn’t as bready and pretzel-y as I’m used to from oktoberfests, and I guess that makes sense now that I see here on ratebeer that this is actually an amber ale. It’s still bready with a tiny bit of spice, like the oktoberfest beers that I’ve sampled, but this one has a definite, distinct, and appropriate hop addition gives a needed balance to those oktoberfests. I’m seeing the toffee, caramel, and rye as well, now that I read the description. Carbonation has a high crest. Pretty drinkable, though. One of the better oktoberfests I’ve tried, that isn’t really an oktoberfest. JoeMcPhee (9590) - Toronto, ON, Ontario, CANADA - FEB 22, 2011
Deep amber pour with a thick sticky white head. the nose is a bit sweet and toasty. A touch of chewy toffee. A bit of light breadiness. A little bit of lightly dusty malt on the base. It’s a tad too sweet despite the dark malt base. A bit of crystal malt that I find a bit off. It’s not terrible, but it’s not terribly good either. czar (9503) - Québec, Quebec, CANADA - OCT 13, 2011
on tap at brewpub. clear light amber with a small head, retention and lacing. light toastiness, faint roasted malts notes, light acidity. aggressive carbonation, light body. bad. solidfunk (9444) - Washington D.C., Washington DC, USA - FEB 15, 2013
A little bit of smoke aroma in this brings it above the average for style, but still the taste overall comes off a bit weird. Pours clear copper. Average carbonation, sticky consistency. Aftertaste a little sweet and odd - seems slightly off just like their #9. Bottle from Smoke it Cigars in San Juan.

9/6/10. On tap. Orange-ish pour, almost looks like a pumpkin beer. Typical grainy smell, but loaded with soapy badness and even some sour... The flavor is bitter and grainy, turns extremely sweet, and then hints at some sort of odd chocolate touch. I wish this brewery would go away. Ibrew2or3 (8860) - Tempe, Arizona, USA - OCT 1, 2010
Pours clear copper with white head. The mild aroma seems to lightly swirl with notes of caramel, sweet malts, sugar coated red apple wedges, a touch of citrus cotton candy and some herbs. The taste is pretty rich with sweet caramel, sweet malts, stewed raisins, ripe red apples, spiciness and some yeast too. jredmond (8770) - New York, New York, USA - SEP 14, 2012
Draft at Shortys with Andy and Paul. Pours an amber body with light lacing. Aroma is light bready, sweet malts, and spice. Mouthfeel is thin with notes of bland spice, malt and bread. Very bland and plain. radagast83 (8533) - Arlington, Virginia, USA - OCT 23, 2010
Bottle. Poured a copper color with a small head. Aroma was malty, bready, grains and a touch of grass. Flavor was toasted malts, a little sweet, touch of earthy tones. SudsMcDuff (8523) - .....Manchester United.........., Texas, USA - FEB 28, 2011
