12 ounce bottle into pint glass, bottled on 8/23/2012. Pours slightly hazy golden orange color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense off white head with great retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Spotty foamy lacing clings to the glass. Aromas of caramel, pear, apple, golden raisin, toast, toffee, bread, light grass, and herbal hops. Pretty nice aromas with good strength and balance. Taste of caramel, apple, pear, toast, toffee, nuttiness, bready grain, light grass, floral, and light herbal spiciness. Minimal bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of caramel, light fruits, toast, toffee, bready grain, nuttiness, and light herbal spiciness on the finish for a good bit. Nice balance and robustness of flavors; with zero cloying sweetness present on the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a creamy and light slick mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a slight warming noticed after the finish. Overall this is a good Oktoberfest style. Nicely robust with good balance of flavors; and very smooth to drink. This was a nicely enjoyable offering. TomDecapolis (4618) - Milton, Delaware, USA - SEP 2, 2010
Tap at Magic Hat. Pours an orange amber with a small bubbly white head. Aroma of light toasted malt, fruits, classic Magic Hat yeast. Flavor of the classic MH yeast profile. Kind of fruity with toasted and grainy malt notes. TheGB (578) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - SEP 13, 2010
Pours a nice light brown. Light aroma of nicely toasted malt and hops. Taste is light to medium bodied with a nice balance of malt and hops. Surprisingly good. Aurelius (5492) - Tallahassee, Florida, USA - OCT 21, 2010
A balanced, rich, caramel aroma, with some Belgian PA tones -- really good. An over-worked but clever label. Foggy, woody amber-brown beer. Again, Belgian overtones to the flavor - candied at times, horehound herb, citrus pith. A starchy body with a long, bitter, withering hop finish. Interesting, but I really wish that the beer had fulfilled the promise that the aroma offered. thornecb (6020) - Marblehead, Massachusetts, USA - DEC 30, 2010
Pours deep clear amber into a Sam glass. Off-white head recedes to skim surface leaving spot lacing. Dark caramel aromas. Dry with caramel upfront and a lasting smoke and rye finish.

On tap at Flying Saucer- Cordova. Orange-amber pour. The nose, flavor, and palate are deeper in fruit than most Märzens. Enjoyable in session with other Oktoberfests, though not at the front of the pack. NeoHippie2 (1074) - Louisville, Kentucky, USA - AUG 27, 2012
Pours a deep amber/copper with a thin white head. Notes of toffee and caramel on the nose. Lots of malt character on the palate. A respectable oktoberfest. Well done. mike67 (1244) - , New Jersey, USA - SEP 1, 2012
On tap. Pours orange with a short lived white head and nice lacing. Aroma is of earthy hops, caramel and biscuit malt, some hints of cherry. Body is medium and crisp. Earthy, herbal hops dominate bready malt and caramel on the palate. Long hoppy finish. Tasty brew but too hoppy for the style. ronaldtheriot (1978) - Laplace, Louisiana, USA - SEP 20, 2012
Magic Hat Hex has a medium, fluffy, off-white head, a slightly hazy, copper appearance with lots of streaming bubbles, and some lacing on the glass. The aroma is of medium-roasted, sweet, fruity barley malt and bread crust. Taste is of roasted malt, wood, bread crust, sweetness, and it has a nice underlying hop bitterness. The mouthfeel is light to medium, and Magic Hat Hex finishes mostly dry, clean, and very refreshing. This beer is super sessionable, and I rate it as being very good. Get some! RJT

Aroma is bready malts, fruit and a very slightly perfumed. The flavor is bready/caramel malts, mild sweetness and a slightly tart/mostly malty finish.
