Perfect form with a smooth, malty opening line followed by a crisp, citrusy hop-filled second stanza. The final piece of its poetic existence is a dash of cool cucumber combined with the slightest of hibiscus tangs.

Bottle from Summer Variety Pack. Orange red pour. The aroma is wonderful and fresh with sweet flowery cucumber notes. Sweet malt up front, quickly turning to an abrupt, perfectly hopped, cucumbery finish. The hibiscus does indeed add a floral acidity. Surprisingly, doesn’t taste artificial at all. The cucumber flavor reminds me of a mexican style cucumber agua fresca. A great, underrated summer beer.

Definitely a different tasting brew, not necessarily in a good way. Mild aroma, taste of cooked vegetables, sticky cucumber flavorings. Not a crisp taste for the summer months.

Bottle I had brought to the Islands this year. Pours clear copper with a small white head hardly any lacing . Aroma is mostly cucumber mixed with some malts. Taste is sweet caramel, combined with cucumber some yeast and some floral notes. It is different. A one timer for me.

Type: 12-oz. bottle Glass: Firestone restaurant glass From: BevMo in Mission Valley North (San Diego), Calif. Price: $15.99 for a Summer Scene variety 12-pack Purchased: July 26, 2013 Consumed: July 28, 2013 Misc.: N/A Poured a honey caramel amber with 2-3 fingers of frothy khaki-white head. Average amount of sporadic lacing on the sides of the glass. Great retention all the way down. Smelled cucumber, fruity aromas, blueberry, grape juice, grape Jolly Ranchers, cotton candy, Irish Spring soap. Tasted even more cucumbery than the smell. Got that massive cucumber taste, faint floral notes, faint fruity taste, butter, grape juice and soap. Oft-putting overall. Light body. Thin-to-poly texture. Average carbonation. Abrupt finish. Somewhat refreshing. Just not that good of a beer in my opining, but loved the creativity. Not happy about having to drink two more of them.

12oz bottle...wow - the cucumber over floral flavor with a surprisingly (and pleasant) bitter finish really wallops you across your beer drinking face. I like stuff that really pushes the boundaries of what beer is...and this one does it in spades. It is time to go off in some radically new directions form the very tired formula of ’more hops = more better’ and I love the assertive veggies/flowers in this one. The innovators will always be harshly criticized by the fundamentalists but new paths need to be blazed and the fear of the new needs to be overcome...well done Magic Hat...well done!

Well, I like cucumber and I like hibiscus tea...but evidently not in my beer. The trick here is to pour this in a glass so no one can read the label and then let someone taste it. You are guaranteed to get the WTF face, and then you can laugh and laugh. This is the best way I found to get my moneys worth out of it. I actually think that if they would have stuck with just the cucumber they might have been better off, the cucumber was actually a bit refreshing but the hibiscus just added a weird flavor. Also, this would have been better with a toned down base flavor, I think maybe a Cucumber Wheat might work on a hot summer day.

UGH! What a nasty beer. Almost dumped it, but started to enjoy hating it with each sip. Aroma was weak. Grass and cucumber. Pour was a nice enough murky medium gold with a one finger white head. Taste was nasty and not "poetic" at all. Strong carbonation masks the beginning of the sip, then mid swallow a strong bitterness (not hop bitterness) takes hold before the strong cucumber flavors wash everything else out. I love cucumbers but the strong flavor of them mixed with an almost dandelion flavor was nasty. Nice strong carbonation

Bottle poured a clear copper hue w/ a medium white head diminishing to a thin cap and lacing. Moderate aroma of cucumber, orange, and straw. Initial flavor is a light sweet w/ a heavy bitter finish of short duration. Tastes are grass, cucumber, rose water, light caramel and straw. Light bodied, watery texture, lively carbonation, and a light dryness in the finish.

Light copper in color with slightly off-white head. Strong cucumber aroma and flavor. The sour from the hibiscus helps to knock down the fruity melon flavors, but this is a sweet and fruity beer. -- rated via 'Find A Beer' for Blackberry 10
