COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Hi.P.A. is a medium-bodied groove with a fresh and fruitful nose of tympanic temptation. It begins and ends with a big hop bite that is itself forever balanced on the brink by a steady rhythm of malt. Dry-hopped for extra quenching in the face of heat and beat, it’s an ideal accompaniment to chilling out, turning inward or sailing onward through the music of the night toward the dawn of the mind. It’s the liquid way to say be here now lest you never come this way again.

POurs hazy gold. Aroma is sweet, peppery, with hints of yeast and nuts. Flavor is big and crisp, bitterhops creeping into the sinuses with a blend of dandelion and cannabis. Some lemon notes, and a resinous bitterness on the back of the tongue. Long, bitter finish.

Hazy golden pour with thin white head. Nose is grassy, indistinct citrus. Watery body, citrus, Flat stixky finish. resiny with a kind of ashtray taste....meh

Bottle. Pours a hazy gold color with a thin white foamy head. Aroma of citrus, resin, ashtray, and floral. Not very balanced. Overpowering bitterness, and not an enjoyable bitterness. Has grains, floral notes, and rotten citrus rinds. Not that great.

Taste is delicious at first, but unbalanced and a little overpowering. Damn good hops.

Maybe one of the better magic hat brews I have tasted - but still hints of a white ale which just isn’t my taste. Hoppieness came through just a touch. Group I was with kept going on about the labels so am going to have to give it a high appearance

Drank out of a bottle. Very standard ipa with a little extra fruit and grassiness. Some cherries are present along with the standard citric notes of other ipa’s. A little bitter, medium body. Okay beer, worth a taste but still just meh.

Appearance: Pours a slightly hazy yellow-orange color with two fingers of a creamy, slightly off-white head The head stays at about a finger the whole way through. Some really nice looking lacing. Smell: Fresh hops. Pretty sweet on the nose, with a lot of fruity notes on top of grassy-like hops. Maybe some cherries or something? Taste/feel: Not as bitter as the description suggests -- better to listen to the IBUs, which are at 70. This is a fairly bitter IPA, but it’s not something you wouldn’t expect. The beer flips between bitter and sweet back and forth through each sip, and ends with a slightly bitter, semi-dry finish. The flavors I pull out are a solid combination of mixed fruits, fresh grass, and floral notes. The beer is medium bodied with a pretty low carbonation... almost like this was had on draft. I’d prefer a bit more carbonation though. The consensus here is pretty accurate -- it’s a good beer. There’s nothing inherently wrong with it, it just lacks a certain "pop" in the flavor to get it a "Wow" factor. A very enjoyable beer, and one of my favorites from Magic Hat.

12 oz bottle from the Fall Harvest sampler case. Not as crazy about this one as everyone else but it was okay in its own right. Still had some issues with the perfume aftertaste that seems common to Magic Hat.

Hazy yellow. Minimal head. Aroma is lacking. Some hard orange taste but almost candied orange. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Yellow to tan and pretty clear, head and lace ok but not fantastic. Aroma and taste are nice and hoppy, citrus notes, a little floral and a nice but subtle malt backbone. Drinkability is high, it’s real easy to down and almost refreshing at the same time. Bitterness is prevalent, yet clean. Body is medium. Overall it’s a tasty IPA and I’ve enjoyed my sixer very much.
