Crunchy pine and grapefruit hops hanging on the palate, culminating in a dry bark ending...Malt is non-consequential it seems, this a hop quaffer...As pleasantly sense numbing and thirst quenching as Rogue's Brutal Bitter... DrSilverworm (9671) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - AUG 29, 2011
12oz bottle, thanks to Robotopera. Mildly hazy dark yellow color, thin white head, little lace. Great nose, very sweet and dry. Strawberry / peach? Nectary. Good carbonation, crisp. Nice, mild aftertaste. Slightly on the syrupy side, but it works. Good IPA. JoeMcPhee (9426) - Toronto, ON, Ontario, CANADA - APR 23, 2006
12 oz bottle. Golden colour with a thick, sticky, white head. Very fresh hoppy nose, grapefruit, light papaya and other tropical fruit. Flavour is well-balanced. Moderate bitterness, but loads of hoppy flavour, pale malt sweetness that lets the hops shine. Tropical fruit in the hops. Great balance. Clean malts and a tasty hop bill. Nothing to complain about here. 3fourths (9345) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - MAR 13, 2007
Bottle. Good nose of grassy fresh hops, dank almost, some honey and birch and pine scent as well. Crisp and moderately light on the tongue, some grassy honey flavors, light and refreshing, could almost convince me that it’s a wheat hybrid at times except for the tangy bitterness. I thought this was a pretty decent IPA, meaning that at the very least it satisfied my hop cravings. blipp (9268) - La Mesa, California, USA - JAN 30, 2008
Bottle. Pours orange with a white head. Hoppy nose with notes of flowers and fruit and even a hint of alcohol. Thin/medium body. Hops stick in your mouth. Taste is mostly orange and a bit peachy, with some other fruits. It sounds like a good combination, but it didn’t really work for me. Bitter finish.

UPDATED: AUG 18, 2011 8/11/11. 12oz bottle. Almost clear dark golden pour with a small, fluffy off-white head that fades but laces a ton. Old lady perfumey aroma with oxidation and an overload of caramel malt. Sweet perfumey flavor as well with a hint of dry grass. Blech. Ibrew2or3 (8614) - Tempe, Arizona, USA - MAY 18, 2007
Poured light copper with off white head that lasted less than a minute. Initially the aroma seemed slightly spicy like a chili pepper. Behind that is sweet maltiness. The taste starts with a medley of spices that I can’t distinguish. I swear I taste chili powder. After that are light floral hoppiness and some sweet maltiness. Interesting brew. nimbleprop (8382) - SouthWest, Washington, Washington DC, USA - FEB 5, 2008
Pours a hazy, translucent orange amber with a frothy, lacing, slightly off white head. Straight forward aroma of lemons, grapefruits, flowers and clover honey. Flavor is sweet, spicy and bitter with hints of honey, clove, lemons, pine and flowers. Finish is sweet and slightly dry. Nice, love Magic Hat and this was very standard from them.
