3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
12 oz bottle, pours a dark copper/brown color. Minimal head. Aroma is very prominent and appetizing, especially for an Irish ale. Very roasty and nutty with some toffee noted. Not as skunky/yeasty as other Irish ales can be. Taste was bitter and sweet, fairly well balanced. Mildy full body, moderately bitter aftertaste. Overall great representation of the genre.

3.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Purchased from the Glenway Avenue Westwood "Krogers" - Alright, this twelve ouncer poured a mahogany hued brew into my lager cup, with a thick (but rapidly fading) off white head. Tastewise, I’d call this beer smokey and grain heavy, rather kind of a psuedo-peat flavoring. Still okay, though.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours clear mahogany into a Sam glass. Off-white micro head slowly pancakes as it recedes leaving trailing sheets. Toffee, molasses and roasted nut aromas. Sweet caramel upfront turning dry in the abrupt toasted grain finish.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
12 ounce bottle from the fall mix pack. Pours a clear dark red with a large frothy tan head. Decent head retention and lacing. Aroma of earthy notes, nuts, chocolate and tinny hops. The taste is earthy notes, caramel and a leafy hop finish. Medium bodied. Decent beer.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
12oz bottle, thanks to Robotopera for sharing from his mix-pack. Clear brown-red color, foamy one-finger head. Little lace. Rich aroma, creamier texture, carbonation a bit strong. Moderate spice. Sort of sweet. Decent, moderate-length aftertaste. Not terribly drinkable or sessionable, though. One of the better and more interesting Irish Reds I’ve had, but still not all that great or interesting. I think I’m just not really a fan of the style.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle, as pictured, part of the mix pack. Pours a clear reddish-orange, minimal head. Smells of straw/hay, and has a bit of toffee sweetness that I like. Simple, unassuming, but easy to drink and tasty.

3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
A nice Irish ale. Very mild and drinkable. Aroma was roasted malt and caramel. Pour was a murky dark red/dirty brown with a half finger off white ring for a head. Taste was all malt. Roasted malt with a distinct earthiness. Slight iced tea flavors come out in the aftertaste. Good carbonation and very refreshing. Great sessionable beer

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Not at all what I was expecting, which is not necessarily a bad thing. Pours dark reddish brown. Aroma is roasted malt and caramel. Feels thinner than it looks or tastes.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pour is very deep brown bordering on black. Aroma very malty. Taste is of caramel malts mixed with roasted and chocolate malts (An interesting add to an irish red, which I think makes this notable. It works well for them, though I wouldn’t want it in every Irish ale..). Maybe a little overhyped (Perhaps because it’s been retired for a while), but a worthy inclusion in the Magic Hat fall mix pack.
