On tap at tasting. Pours a dark black color with a two finger tan head. Aroma of smoked and roasted malts, peat, vanilla. Taste has lots of dark caramel upfront with notes of smoke, along with a bit of clove and molasses in the middle with a finish of toast and caramel. Medium to thick body and light carbonation. kerenmk (4768) - Tel Aviv, ISRAEL - AUG 31, 2013
Bottle sample at a tasting at Ariel’s place. Thanks YK23 & eyes_wide_shut. Dark brown with tan ring. Smoke, ash and ink aroma, smoky and rather dry taste. Smooth texture, full body and smoky finish. tomer (3521) - Rishon Le Zion, ISRAEL - AUG 22, 2013
At a tasting, many thanks YK23 & eyes_wide_shut, murky dark brown colour aroma of dried horse droppings, porcini mushrooms, mud, smoke, composte and some dark bread in the back, flavour of dark bread with soome dried fruits, caramel and a hint of smoke and charred wood, medium to light body. Could be excellent with a little more body, but still very good. DSG (14838) - Tel Aviv, ISRAEL - AUG 16, 2013
Bottle sample at a tasting at Ariel’s place. Thanks YK23 & eyes_wide_shut. Very dark brown to black with a beige head. Aroma of dark chocolate, smokiness and some licorice. Sweetish flavor with smokiness, chocolate, a bit of caramel, licorice notes and a dry finish. Medium-bodied. Sammy (12212) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - JUL 13, 2013
So-so smoked beer. The smoke is there but the porter is rather subdued. Black with head and smoke aroma. Mouthfeel less than average. So-so drinkability.

750 ml bottle into tulip glass, August 2012 bottling. Pours clear almost pitch black color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense khaki head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass. Aromas of raisin, apple, molasses, chocolate, roasted malt, toast, smoke, light char, light coffee, floral, and roasted earthiness. Decent aromas with solid balance and complexity of roasted notes; but a bit too fruity. Taste of chocolate, roasted malt, raisin, toast, molasses, smoke, light char, dark bread, and light roasted earthiness. Lingering notes of chocolate, roasted malt, toast, raisin, molasses, smoke, light char, dark bread, light wood, and earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Pretty good balance and complexity of roasted flavors with moderate smokiness; fair amount of robustness; and minimal cloying flavors present after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a fairly creamy and lightly slick mouthfeel that is good. Alcohol is very well hidden with nearly zero warming noticed after the finish. Overall this is a solid smoked porter. A bit too fruity in the aromas, but has some solid balance of roasted flavor and smokiness; and is very smooth to sip on. A fairly enjoyable offering. reggiedunlop (3725) - The dub c, Pennsylvania, USA - FEB 25, 2013
Pours dark brown with minimal tan head. Aroma is smoky with a metallic hint. Flavor is roasty/smoky with super smoky creeping in...no medicinal/band aid though. Mouthfeel is light/medium with a very smoky dry finish. Stldsf1 (616) - Florida, USA - FEB 17, 2013
Nice smokey porter. Not ground breaking but roasted malts hit nicely. Would have again

Pours dark brown color with tan head. Aromas of lightly smoked malts with some chocolate. Moderately smokey flavor with some sweet milk chocolate. Medium body with average carbonation. Decent but not a serious smoked beer. A smoked beer with training wheels. aplus01 (71) - North Carolina, USA - FEB 8, 2013
Aroma was very subdued smoke over roasty malt. Appearance: dark, almost no head. Taste was dominated by roasty malt character, little smoky flavor, bitterness keeps malt from being too sweet. Overall a good porter with a very small amount of smoky flavor, but nothing noteworthy.
