BREWMUSKCLES (2686) - New Jersey, USA - DEC 6, 2012
black and smokey as well as chalky brew with decent sweetish hint of cocoa and even less so caramel. moderate body making this a bit like a cigar that has been in your mouth and unlit for an hour ... with a dash of salt. maxwelldeux (4374) - Snohomish, Washington, USA - NOV 24, 2012
Bottle. Pours an extremely dark brown with a moderate tan head. Nose is definitely very smokey, which is awesome. Tastes dark and malty, and with a great amount of smoke. Very light and easy for something based off a porter. I like it. queenholly (3623) - South Whitley, Indiana, USA - NOV 22, 2012
Bottle. Smoky meaty, chocolate malt aroma. Dark brown with a thin ring of bubbles. Smoky peaty malt, slightly meaty, coffee, chocolate flavor, with a light roasty finish. Slightly artificial type sweetness. Light to medium body, soft carbonation. shrubber85 (11408) - Greenville, Indiana, USA - NOV 22, 2012

Not bad for magic hat but not that great on the style, smokey and light bodied. Hint of rust or metallic after taste, not for me beerbuzzmontreal (3487) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - OCT 27, 2012
Pours a black color with a medium beige head. Average aroma of slightly smoked and roasted malt. Average flavor of smoked and roasted malt with a mild bitter finish. The body is light with a creamy texture and soft carbonation. Not bad, but very forgetable. Mfaczan (5) - - OCT 21, 2012 does not count
A great toasty porter with smoky overtones. A nice hearty pour that I suspect would be outstanding with BBQ or just on the deck with a maduro cigar.
