750 cc from Capones. Pours dark straw colored with 2-finger white head that laces well. Nose is earthy tart fruit, hopcitrus, caro syrup. Tastes sweet, with notes of orange marmalade, spicy peppery notes, and hopcitrus. A bit cloying as it warms, this one is a bit muddled and non-cohesive.

Where and how: NY state , bottle 750 ml
Aroma average intensity. Soft malty feel with good but not bold herbal hop feel. Slight touch of caramel, hop acid and red apple. Dry alcohol on top a la Polish Mocne.
Appearance :3-
Top: medium sized, creamy whit top that created nice rings on glass.
Base: hazy amber.
Palate : medium bodied, with tad lighter yet well paired to body carbonation. Smooth clean top.
Taste: hop presence is far more accented in taste than in aroma with elements of sap. Nice refined bitterness with solid base of malts.
Other notes solid drinkable with warming heat.

2 oz. sample at the brewery. Light hazy gold color. Aroma is Saaz and a grassiness. Light dough.

Flavor is ok. Wheat base with a nice lingering bitterness from the herbal/ grassy hop with notes of hay. Medium body with proper carbonation. Solid amount of bitterness that lingers well after the sip. Pretty decent.

Bottle, caged and corked. Deep, dark gold-bronze pour. Thin but sudsy head. The aroma is simply big, sweet and biscuity. The beer drinks thusly. Rich with a definite alcohol presence, thickly malty and bready. Good stuff though. (#5424, 2/2/2014)

Location: 750 ml bottle from State Line, 7/31/12, Rating # 2300

Aroma: The nose has some fruit, pilsner malts, grass, earth, and floral notes
Appearance: Pours a cloudy golden-orange color with a frothy white head and heavy lace
Flavor: Tastes medium-plus sweet, similar to the nose, with a light hops/light hot malt finish
Palate: Its medium-plus bodied, has a smooth, creamy, slightly sticky feel, and finishes mildly hot and dry
Overall Impression: I tend to be fairly unexcited by much of what Ive tried from Magic Hat, and while this wasnt incredible, I think its a top Magic Hat offering for me. You know that typical MH taste? I didnt get much of that here, so thats nice... While this still wasnt a great beer, its good to see a generally mediocre brewery showing a little bit of improvement. Thats about as complimentary as I can get on this one.

Very slightly hazy golden coloured body with a super, nine plus centimetre thick off-white head that fades nicely. Aroma of grass, hay, yeast, bread, alcohol, oranges and a twinge of metal. Medium to Full-bodied; Deep malty flavour with a ton of alcohol noticeable, a lot of hay, grass, herbal and barnyardie qualities with a pungent yeast kick and a little sugar at the end. Aftertaste shows a nice complex flavour, especially for the style, with perhaps too much alcohol noticeable, but some nice grassy notes and a bit of sweetness too. Overall, a nice beer and one from Magic Hat that I was actually kind of looking forward to sample. Buy and try it if you can find it, but this was the only time I saw the bottle. I sampled this 75 cL bottle purchased from Liqour Outlet in Boonton, New Jersey on 22-April-2012 for US$8.65 sampled at home in Washington on 02-October-2012.
