Non existent head with a skunky flavor and smell. Flat and skunky just about sums up the experience. Mother Lager? Mother of what?

Drake (13954) - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA - AUG 16, 2017
12 ounce bottle thanks to hershiser the 2nd. Hazy golden, thin creamy white head, good retention. Aroma of grassy, noble hops and pale bready malt. The taste is pale bready malt, spicy, grassy, noble hop. Medium bodied, crisp. Nice.

Mother Lager has a thick, white head, a hazy, yellow, bubbly appearance, with powdery, tan sediment, fierce bubbles, and some glass lacing. The aroma is of grassy hops, sweet cracker, and yeast. Taste is of those elements, with nice, slightly citrusy bitterness, finishing the sip. Mouthfeel is medium, and Magic Hat Mother Lager finishes crisp and easy going. RJT

UPDATED: JUN 20, 2017 Bottle. Corn, barley malt, and grass/hay aroma. Medium yellow with giant white head. Mildly sweet corn/vegetal, barley malt, and moderately bitter quinine/hay flavor. Weak body. Wow - this is City Brewery worthy at 2-3 times the cost.

DATE: May 11, 2017... OCCASION: the end of a strange day--taking apart the lawn tractor carburetor--leads to an odd lager: such, as always, the promise from Magic Hat... GLASSWARE: Ommegang pokal... pours a fresh, snow white froth of head that mounts a clear golden body--snapping and crackling, denoting its freshness... small but gathering bubbles also let me know I got this in the midst of its "limited run," as the label states... lacing is arching and smeared, not in a bad way... fresh tea, aromatic noble hops, some lilac and lightly toasted bread make this a refreshing scent--though a bit bold to name it a "refreshing, evolved alternative" to other lagers... fizzy to the mouthfeel, alive and reasonably well... a champagne finish, with a bit more beef... then comes the taste, and yeah, they tried it again--honey, pepper, a tough-to-place thick malty malaise that is earthy, thick and unenjoyable... banana, ginger, and vegetable seem thrown in for some measure... I picked up the mix pack for Hocus Pocus and Elder Betty, two beers I have to rate to check off the back list, and this seemed a character of a throw-in....label aside--Rage would approve--I can only approve of its limited run...

FROTHINGSLOSH (7901) - GREENSBURG, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 10, 2017
Sampled from a bottle this beer poured a bright golden color with a medium sized foamy white head that left no lacing. The aroma was faintly sweetish and yeasty. The flavor was bitter and a bit yeasty. Long bitter finish that turns medicinal. Medium body. Awful.

3.3
JPDIPSO (6236) - Wauwatosa, USA - MAY 10, 2017
Yellow color with a tall, rather quickly diminished white head. Sweet pale malt and light noble hops scents. A mix of pale malt and grain. A touch chalky. A light euro lager. Not overly heavy, but thick enough to make you stand at attention and recognize this wants your attention.
