This unique surprise cross-pollinates the classic American wheat beer with an American Pale Ale. What grows next is a fruitfully unfiltered union with a delightful hop aroma, a pleasant citrus hop flavor, and a beautifully balanced finish that leaves other ales hoppy green with springtime envy.

UPDATED: DEC 31, 2010 Bottle from an assorted 12 pack. This is a nice, sweet IPA with the hearty palate from the wheat. A hint of kiwi on the nose. On the slightly watery side, this beer acts as a nice session beer or a beer to drink with a meal that will not fill you up.

bottle labeled as "Encore IPA" in winter 10 sampler pack. pours a cloudy orange with a small white head. apricot and tangerine hop aroma. zesty from the wheat with notes of baking soda. lots of hops bring out a apricot flavor. light body with high carbonation. dry, quick finish. not much sweetness.

Dark gold amber with a thin lacy head. The aroma is orange and fruity. The flavor is mildly hoppy with an orange/citrus hint. The beer is full-bodied, chewy and makes the mouth water. Very good brew and not very hoppy, but a good IPA nonetheless.

Pours a hazy orange color that reminds me of an ipa. Has a medium sized off white head. Smells of wheat and hops. Taste is hoppier than I would expect from a wheat ale however the bottle which I got said ipa on it. That makes a bit more sense than wheat ale. has some wheat flavors mixed in with a bunch of citrus notes.

Bottle - as Encore IPA in the Winter Pack. Hazy amber pour with a short white head. Strong citrus fruit, orange peel and grapefruit juice int he nose. Taste is big citrus oils, orange peel, grapefruit juice, light pine and sweet malt. Body is medium with soft carbonation and a strong resinous feel. Ends with more grapefruit juice, orange peel, citrus fruit, pine and sweet malt.

bottle pours hazy orange with a tall white head. Aroma is strong citrus and pine hop notes with thin floral notes. Flavor is pleasant, well balanced toast and nutty malts with plenty of pine. Only faint wheat in the finish. I like it.

just a very delightful brew in my mind. here we have a wheat brew at least as how it looks and with a kids cereal type malt syrup flavor. sweet and ripe with tastes of orange candy grapefruit and 7 up soda added to a powerful hop presence of pine with a bit of chalk. seems silly but it worked for me. smart sweet tart finish and add pez candy to the mix. demonstrative and happy it is flowery with a bit of spice. thanx magic hat !

Bottle. moderate malt and hop aromas of roasted, pine and grapefruit peel, light soap for the yeast with hints of pepper and date. Head is large, frothy, white with fair lacing and is mostly diminishing. Color is hazy, light amber. Flavor starts moderately acidic and finishes moderately acidic and bitter. Palate is light to medium, watery, with a lively carbonation and finishes lightly astringent. An okay IPA, but a little too acidic and not any sweetness kept it from rising above my "15 point, I’d definitely drink this again" overall score.

They call this Encore too, like the hotel in Vegas, but not as cool. A wheat IPA now? Well this is an experience Id soon like to forget. At first I was reminded of the HIPA, but then reality set in and this is not that good. Color does resemble a mix between a pale ale and some forging background of wheat, but that does not sit right with me. I like the IPAs strong and masterful, this is not. But I have had worse and magic hat is a great beer staple in any beer lovers journey. So I enjoyed that good old northeast feeling while sipping away.

Labeled as "Encore". Has an apricot like aroma and taste which is a bit bitter. Has a creamy amber color with a head that disappears quickly.
