Poured a lightly hazy brown amber color with a small, light tan head that left light lacing on the glass. Aroma of dried fruits, vanilla, citrus, floral hops, oxidation, and light bourbon. Taste of molasses, caramel malts, vanilla, citrus, various other dark fruits, and bourbon. j12601 (13028) - Poughkeepsie, New York, USA - FEB 2, 2009
Mini growler from Half-Time. Pours a clear ruby brown, leaning more red than brown, with a fairly large gently tanned head. Sweet malt and a bit of hops on the nose, as well as caramel and raw sugar. Notes of vanilla, smoke, and wood hide faintly in the background. Slight hint of alcohol on the nose. Body is bordering on the thin side, but the very fine carbonation may have something to do with that. Finishes lightly with a gentle bit of bitterness and more caramel flavors, a bit of alcohol, and almost a hint of banana. Pretty solid, and almost hides the 8% completely.
