COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Stop and smell the petals. Pistil is a summer beer unlike any other, brewed with a combination of dandelion petals, Pale and Acidulated malts, flaked oats, and Apollo and Northern Brewer hops that results in a one-of-a-kind beer with a slightly sour acidity and a smooth malt body. Perfect for taking down deep thirst.

Pours slightly cloudy with clean white head. Very little aroma but what there is smells like weeds. Flavor is light is floral in a "tastes like grass clippings" kind of way.

Poured into a lager glass from a 3/4 of a pint bottle. An open sniff of hops hints; a traditional gold cloudiness; an exquisite taste of spritz complexed. Dandy Lions, indeed.

Tap. Pours clear pale golden yellow, small white head, some lacing. Aroma is light grass, honey, floral. Flavor is light sweet, floral with a bit of acidity. Lingering bitterness on the far finish. Light body

Had a glass on tap at Alexandrias as part of a flight. Delicious, light, refreshing, simple

Aroma: Clean aroma, almost watery, with hints of cooked vegetables. Appearance: Cloudy pale yellow with minimal head. Taste: Medium sourness all the way through. Palate: Light body, slick texture, flat carbonation, long herbal finish. Overall: Drinkable, but the herbal taste overwhelms. I’m not impressed.

HIGHB4LL (837) - Fort Collins, Colorado, USA - MAY 2, 2014
12 oz. bottle from Wilbur’s. Appearance: finger white head, straw yellow, clear, good lacing. Aroma: dandelion, floral, light earthy yeast. Palate: light body, average carbonation, dry finish, thin texture. Taste: lightly sweet through front, ending is somewhat tannin bitter. Overall, like the taste, but thin on the aroma and nothing much to say for palate. Drinkable.

$1.67 bottle from Trader Joe’s, Charlottesville. Pours light gold with a large white head. Smells of slightly sweet grasses. Tastes of light grasses. That’s it. Bitter... bland... thin... watery.

Slightly cloudy yellow. Very bland aroma and taste. Concept far exceeds actual brew!

Nephilium (1821) - Cleveland, Ohio, USA - APR 20, 2014
Faint sour aroma, pours a clear pale yellow with a full white head. Slight floral taste, with just a touch of tartness in the finish. There is a vegetal aftertaste that comes out at the end, which has a bite of bitterness to it. Not a bad beer, but there’s a lot more sours and summer beers I’ll reach for first.

Straw pour with good white head and good lacing. Aroma is light and yeasty, but not unpleasantly so. Flavor is light and crisp; slightly tart. Light body and clean finish. A pleasant summer beer.
