Stop and smell the petals. Pistil is a summer beer unlike any other, brewed with a combination of dandelion petals, Pale and Acidulated malts, flaked oats, and Apollo and Northern Brewer hops that results in a one-of-a-kind beer with a slightly sour acidity and a smooth malt body. Perfect for taking down deep thirst.

Refrigerated 12 oz. brown bottle poured into a glass. Pours slightly hazy golden with small white head. Aroma is dandelion, light/medium body, low carbonation, and little lacing. Taste is pilsner malt, dandelion, and some herbal hops.

12 oz bottle, 2014 release.
Hazy light yellow with a fluffy white head that settles to a thin cap, and leaves a light lacing behind.
Aroma is pale malt, cereal grain and biscuits.
Flavor is lightly sweet, with a spicy, earthy bitterness. A touch of herbal tea in the finish, but not too over the top.
Interesting beer, but I couldn’t drink more than one in a session.

12oz bottle from Drum Hill Liquor, Chelmsford, NH. A cloudy pale amber pour with a ring of white head; sweet aroma; grainy body with a slight sourness that’s quite refreshing. I was a bit uncertain about this when I saw the ingredients, but it’s actually a good summer refresher.

Good summer beer for something different tasting. I enjoy the slight sour/tartness that this beer finishes with.

Do you know what this smells like? Cat urine, cauliflower, and apple cider vinegar. Really doesn’t taste much better.

This is dry, bitter and rather astringent blond ale. My guess is the dandelion petals add the astringency. I actually like this sort of thing but I’d imagine some folks will think it’s like sucking on a tea bag. To me, that dry feeling on the tongue just begs for another sip and that is a quality I think of rather highly in a beer.

Bottle. Nose is somewhat dry but dank, lightly woody and fruity/tang notes. Flashes of bright citrus. Pours yellow-golden with strong carbonation and a soapy white head. Taste is relatively dry, light bitterness with a strong wooden component, resolves into a fizzy but beautiful bready character. Very light tang, light (and faintly astringent) herbal and grassy touches. Faint grain, good clean pale malt right up the middle, some lemony citrus, light mineral. Light-medium body crisp and supremely refreshing! Clean with great balance, I’m pleasantly surprised.

Appearance: the beer pours with a large white head, it takes a little while to pour this beer down, the beer is gold in color with a slight haze to it Aroma: yeast, fruity, flowers, citrus, smells pretty good, could be a little stronger if anything Taste: lightly toasted clear malt, hints of industrial lager are there, kind of bland, some flowers Palate: leaves mouth very dry, light mouthfeel, very strong carbonation, minimal aftertaste Overall: pretty easy drinking, just has faint notes of industrial lager that don't sit well with me, the aroma is nice though and I bet it would be even better on a hot day ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
