Very interesting beer. Aroma and flavor is of fresh herbs, citrus, lemongrass. No bitterness. Herbal aroma and flavor strengthens as beer warms up. Very good for summer. dwyerpg (6365) - Las Vegas, Nevada, USA - FEB 16, 2013
A like this beer. A bit grainy but it has a great crisp bite to it. A bit heavy for the style of a golden ale but it certainly works for me. Underrated I say. joshwoodward (575) - - MAY 14, 2014
Had a glass on tap at Alexandrias as part of a flight. Delicious, light, refreshing, simple gregwilsonstl (2613) - St. Louis, Missouri, USA - JUL 8, 2012
Smells like, well, dandelions of course. Very cloudy dark gold. Very unique appearance. Slightly sour. I like the concept of this beer......and the label which clearly has a lot of "reproduction" symbolism and innuendo. The oats were also a wonderful touch....if they were missing I probably would have said it was too light bodied and too sour....the oats round it out nicely. I appreciate the cleverness of this beer, and salute Magic Hat for letting the brewer pull it off. kidmartinek (5001) - austin, Texas, USA - JAN 20, 2013
Hazy golden with a pure white head. Bitter floral aroma. Can definitely smell the dandelion petal. Absolutely refreshing with a light, and slightly dry floral grass flavor with a refreshing bite and bitter finish. Perfect on the backporch of a brisk Texas Sunday evening.

Hey wow, its a Magic Hat beer that I like and not just like but maybe even love. Refreshing herbaceous nose with a good dose of citrus, not sure how much was dandelion there and how much was hops. Malts were soft, biscuity, semi-dry. More hebal citrus in the flavor, snappy, clean, very refreshing. Light hazy golden with a large foamy head. Bottle. Pours cloudy light orange with a thin white spitty head. Nose is flowery, lightly herbal, light citrus, lots of different tropical fruits. Flavor is nicely balanced, dandelion character is evident, no herbal/green astringent, very wheaty, somewhat similar in execution to dfh festina peche but i find this cleaner, drier, and tastier. Impressive restraint from Magic Hat. ronaldtheriot (1977) - Laplace, Louisiana, USA - FEB 26, 2013
Magic Hat Pistil has a medium, frothy, off-white head, a hazy, yellow-golden appearance, some lacing left behind, streaming bubbles, and an enormous amount of fine white particles floating throughout. The aroma is a strange mix of sweet malts, acidic juice, and freshly-mowed grass. Taste is of pineapple juice, weeds from the lawn, acid, sweetness, bitterness, and plant stems. Mouthfeel is medium, and Magic Hat Pistil finishes dry and tart. Overall, this is an usual, yet interesting beer. RJT

UPDATED: JUN 15, 2013 Pours a hazy yellow with a frothy white head that sticks around for awhile. The smell is sweet, malty, with some yeast and floral notes. It has a nice sweet background that is harder to describe but like the smell of a nice summer night. Taste is not nearly as sweet as the smell would have indicated, the flavor starts malty but moves into a unique bitterness, that does not taste like hops. I can only assume this is from the dandelion as this is my first dandelion beer. The bitter sticks around through the aftertaste, and gets stronger, almost to the point of a lip smacking bitter. The mouthfeel is nice a crisp light beer, smooth and easy to drink. If the bottle didn’t display the dandelion I would have had a hard time guessing that one. No overpowering flavors, a nice enjoyable beer, overall it is well done. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone scanman (150) - Santa Cruz, California, USA - JUN 17, 2012
Unique sour (pleasant) taste with delicate hops and malty finish. Nice balance with no off-flavors. Great with fish or chicken.
