Aroma: bready, yeasty, typical saison aroma. Appearance is dark brown with big tan head. Flavor is roasted malts with hints of burnt caramel. Smells like a saison and tastes like a run-of-the-mill brown ale. Beerdedone (3446) - Croydon, Pennsylvania, USA - FEB 1, 2014
Bottle. Pours dark brown with a short beige head. Aroma was earthy with roasted malts, caramel and light spices. Flavor of caramel, fruit, earth, light chocolate and had a odd tartness. airrick2003 (872) - Louisiana, USA - JAN 28, 2014
Appearance: beer pours with a very large tan head, the beer is dark for a saison, it's a very dark maroon color that almost looks black
Aroma: sweet, sugar, some dark roasted malt, faint, lemon, bread
Taste: the dark roasted malt is definitely there, you get hints of sourness and tartness,
Palate: leaves the mouth dry, lively carbonation, minimal dark malt aftertaste
Overall: certainly an interesting take on a saison, the dark malt is stronger than the saison wildness but you do get some tart

Pours a very dark brown that was unappealing. I really didn't care much for this beer at all.

Huh...a saison? Reddish brown pour with lots of off white head. Aroma with some toffee, spices, vegetal. Nothing too distinct in taste. Spices, burnt toast, slight hop bitterness. Watery. No thanks.

Bottle. Pours hazy medium brown with a reddish tint and a creamy white head. Some lacing. Tastes like earth, malt, slightly roasted. Dry with hints of herbs. Light body and good carbonation. Some aroma of roasted malt. woodychevy (874) - - JAN 14, 2014
Just ok. Pours darker than I would expect for a saison but medium bodied. Definite tart cherries at first and then moves on to a spice mid taste and finish. Has a vegetal/ musty nature that doesn’t really work for me. Finishes
with a somewhat interesting bitterness. Not bad, just not my favorite combination of flavors. fattybladdy (628) - Kalamazoo, Michigan, USA - JAN 5, 2014
12oz bottle to pint. Pours a dark murky brown. Tastes of toasted bread, burnt raisin and fig. Was not a fan of this. phillybass (117) - Pennsylvania, USA - JAN 4, 2014
A dark and complicated ale. Almost like a porter. Not as smokey. Acceptable but not incredible.

Bottle. Clear brown color with tan head. Nutty, earthy dirt, vegetal, swamp gas aromas. Medium body with average co2. Medium roast malt, dark bread, lightly dry flavors with some dirt, vegetables--not bad.
