What a pretty bottle. Don’t judge it by it’s looks. I poured it into a Mason jar and it had a beautiful Mahagony color head with a one finger tan white head. I smelled hops, fruit, toasted bread, then I took a sip. Instant taste of malt, alcohol, way to much hops for a brown ale, and just complete bitterness. Because I drank a few better tasting beers before sampling this, I just started chugging it even though the drain in the sink is not to far away. I’ve had other offerings from Magic Hat but I will not be purchasing this again anytime soon. BTW this became a 2.1 because of appearance and aroma.

Rated on 5-21-2016 (Bottle) This beer’s appearance is a medium sized frothy ivory head that is fully lasting, transparent copper body, fizzy, lively, very fast rising carbonation observed, and one ring of lacing. The aroma is citrus hops, earthy, light chocolate, toffee, toasty, and caramel malt. The flavor presents light bitterness, citrus hops, toffee, chocolate, lightly roasted, and caramel malt. The mouthfeel is lively carbonation and this beer is medium bodied. A quaffable beer that is easy drinking. It is an okay beer but it did not leave me wanting this one again. It is fairly easily to forget.

Pours a caramel brown with a medium head of light tan foam. Nice aroma of roasted malts. Medium body with plenty of carbonation and lacing. Crisp roasted malt flavor with a somewhat bitter aftertaste. Has a lingering mouth tingle but just a tad too bitter for me.

Bottle. Pours a deep Amber color with a tan head and some lacing. Aroma of malt, caramel, bit of nut and grain. Taste of caramel, grain and nut. Solid bitterness that lingers into the finish. Medium body, with a hopped feel. Not bad, just not what I was looking for.

12oz bottle 4/13/16 (Jewel Clearance Rack)-48° in Shaker-Pours brown with an off white head. Aroma of caramel, malt, and hops. Taste of the same with more hops on the back end along with some toffee. This light to medium bodied brew is not too shabby.

bottle. Poured clear auburn with a fluffy tan head. Aroma of fruity sweet malt. Medium body, average carbonation with an acidic mouthfeel. Toasty malts with resiny hops that finished tart and moderately dry.

Wasn't nuts for this brown ale. Looks and smells great but there was a pronounced persistent bitterness that I couldn't shake. Draught at Okemo resort. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
