From a bottle poured an amber color with a good amount of head. Bitter hoppy flavor with a lingering aftertaste. edgallow (4312) - nashville, Tennessee, USA - APR 28, 2013
12 oz bottle pours hazy amber with a tan head. Aroma of caramel malt, floral and spice. Taste is spicy, sweet malts and pine resin.

Pours a very orangey, slightly hazy medium amber with a medium-sized off-white head that leaves a lot of scuzzy lacing. Aroma is berry-sweet, caramel, some citrus, not terribly hoppy. Flavor is rather sweet, lots of caramel, touch of spice. Something’s slightly off. Muddy, sweet flavor. Slightly thick, sticky mouthfeel. Meh. UPDATED: MAY 3, 2013 Draft at Sugars. Hazy medium amber with a small off-white head. Strong hoppy rye. Bitter earthy grassy notes, though still a bit sweet. Very rye forward. Stronger than most Magic Hat brews but still feels like a better IPA watered down. blipp (9502) - La Mesa, California, USA - APR 25, 2013
Bottle. Pours amber orange with an off white head. Some flowery hops, malty sweetness and hints of rye, with lighter notes of pine, and light lingering bitterness. Decent.

Pours a clear copper brown on tap with thin lacy off-white film and slight webby lacing. Aroma of rye spice and slight floral hops, almost a lager malt back. Taste is heavy on the rye with an earthy floral bitter hop finish. For magic hat, this is pretty solid. Beerman6686 (6607) - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - APR 22, 2013
This one poured a light orange color with an off white head. Aroma was of light rye, light bittering hops and not much else. Flavor was of weeds, grass, and light spices. Not much of an IPA. TURDFERGUSON (4058) - Durham, North Carolina, USA - APR 17, 2013
Bottle, from broken up mix pack at Trader Joe’s. Pours a dark, murky, plum color, quite eerie looking actually. Thick, steady white, light meringue-like head. Nose is sweet cream, fruity, blueberry, bran, cereal malt. Flavor is icky-sweet and sweaty, fruity, bitterness. A complete mess, and exactly what I expect from this brewery which has obviously has been left in the dust after the new wave of the craft beer revolution. nuplastikk (6373) - Madison, Wisconsin, USA - APR 16, 2013
12oz bottle. Unfiltered murky orange-brown body. Fluffy, steady off-white head. A pretty well balanced Rye IPA. Respectable enough hopping, a little one dimensional maybe. Either way, this beer is malt centered, big rich caramel and rye tones...though still finishes a touch hollow. The house yeast really dominates. ryanscourt (1498) - Latrobe, Pennsylvania, USA - APR 13, 2013
Not bad Rye hoppiness. Fairly short and simple. What’s there is pretty good, but not too impressive. Definitly would order this at a bar and enjoy it, just not over similar rye offerings that I have had.
