bottle - Pours hazy dark copper with a small head. It smells hoppy with some mild citrus. The flavor is moderately to strongly bitter with rye spiciness. It’s medium bodied and fairly good.

Second beer consumed in DADDY’S MYSTERY BOX - many thanks! 12 oz. bottle, "MORE DRINK MORE THINK" printed on bottom side of cap. How delightfully amusing. To oversized cognac snifter, it pours a rusty redwood with which a sudsy, ivory white head 1 and half fingers in length stood. Aromas of cedar bark, pine-scented Little Trees, spent grain, banana peppers (gosh, haven’t used that in a while), denim jeans, kumatoes, agave syrup, avocados, and rolling tobacco. Tastes much the same with the addition of sesame seeds, sourdough, and DME. Medicinal hops, shallots, and American yeast experienced by swallow, alongside a very mild spice characteristic resembling cinnamon and cardamom. Medium-bodied drinking. Pleasant. Would have again, even though it did not wow me.

Magic hat has always been hit or miss for me. This one hits right in the middle. Not over the top but not a stand out. An okay beer from a good brewer

This is a great rye. It's not shitty but the exact opposite. Enjoy it on a Sunday doing that thing and grilling brats. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

From a 33cl bottle, pours a hazy amber to brown color with an off-white head that disappeared fast only to leave a ring around the glass. Aroma of hops, pine, yeast and citrus. Flavors are pleasant, hops, toasted bread, herbs, malts, grains, caramel and toffee. Medium body, light sweetness and bitterness. Nice balance of many flavors making it quite interesting and enjoyable to drink.

(bottle - 12 oz) Orange pour with a white head. Slightly sour grain and dry grass aroma with maybe a hint of wheat. Flavor is bitter and sour. Very cloyingly so. A bit of sweetness but the dry sour and bitter notes kind of ruin it.

Very interesting. Piney astringent typical of ipa but more bitter nut base from the rye. Well matched to quiet spicy hops

Specialty Grain? IPA? I’ll see when I enter this rating.
Ah - Specialty Grain. Funny how many wheat ales are getting into the IPA category now while the ryes are getting the boot.
This has an amber body, lots of bubbling, and a slender, creamy ecru head. It has an aroma of caramel and citrus fruit with quiet floral scents. The flavor is mainly about the caramelly malt. There’s also a light peppery sensation that lingers on the tongue. Midway through some citrus and zest flavors kick in along with a moderate bitterness. It finishes on a dry, softly bitter note. Not bad, but when I see "IPA" on a bottle, I’m always expecting more.

(Bottle). Nice hazy amber complexion with thin head. Musky aroma. Flavor is rye forward balanced with piney hops. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
