It's not horrible but it's not great either. Sweetish flavor with little to no aroma. For an IPA the hops are nonexistent

Bottle from Total Wine in Sacramento, CA. Pours clear light copper with a slight beige head. Aroma is sort of spicy/herby. Med body or so. The rye is clearly present with spice, and there’s a sort of veg/herb along with it. It’s bitter in the finish, but I’m not getting much of the usual hop suspects. Herbal I guess.

Cybercat (5833) - Georgia, USA - MAR 26, 2014
Pours a clear dark amber, almost chestnut, with a thick, fluffy and fine-bubbled pale buff head. Aroma is wimpy but has tempting notes of rye and woody hops. Flavor, fortunately, is stronger than the aroma’s promise, rye and bitter hops plus a hint of citrus. Texture is firm if only somewhat fizzy. Not Magic Hat’s best, but rye-ght on! Go ahead and get this ticket.

From a bottle. The pour is a dark orange almost red in color with a heavy spice note with a sweet aftertaste.

Weak, that’s what comes to mind. For an IPA, where is the flavor? Slightly high amount of alcohol, love the bitter rye, hops are mild though. Flavor is right, but weak and just an average beer. Maybe I’m spoiled, I dunno.

thedm (6180) - Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA - MAR 20, 2014
This bottled brew from a grocery store poured a medium sized head of foamy finely sized light tan colored bubbles that were very long lasting and left behind a very softly carbonated slightly hazy light brown orange colored body and a good lacing. The mild aroma was bready and mild hop. The sharp vinous crisp mouth feel was very tingly at the start and at the finish with a biting hoppy aftertaste. The sharp flavor contained notes of rye hops and malt. A wonderful best in class brew.

snoworsummer (5694) - baltimore, Maryland, USA - FEB 26, 2014
From a bottle. Pours hazy copper with a fizzy off white head. Tastes like sweet malt, caramel, hops, light orange and resin. Light/medium body and carbonation. Smells like sweet, malty hops. Hardly any bitterness.

sonnycheeba (5988) - Federal Hill, Baltimore, Maryland, USA - FEB 26, 2014
Bottle from sampler pack. Pours hazy dark amber with creamy off-white head. Aroma is cereal malts, rye, light bandaid, light strawberry, and faint floral notes. Flavor is dry malts, some dark fruit sweetness, and some floral hop bitterness; finish is slightly sweet but with some lingering bitterness. Medium body and carbonation.

Lutz2jm (277) - North Carolina, USA - FEB 25, 2014
The name is the best thing about this beer. It is way to light to be a good rye IPA.

3.3
Nsanders (1144) - St Paul, Minnesota, USA - FEB 17, 2014
Bottle. Orange brown with notable khaki lacing. Lemony, soft rye, cardamom and clay. Taste is sweet, some lemony tartness, with a herbal bitterness. Medium body with a light soapy feel.
