Bottle. Pours a fizzy amber with a small yellow head that dissipates like soda. No lace. No retention. Aroma is toast, brown sugar, some chemicals. Taste is burnt toast, chemicals, old pancake syrup, artificial candies. Yuck. zach8270 (4021) - Henrietta, New York, USA - JAN 27, 2010
(bottle - 12 oz) Clear copper pour with a fizzy white head. Dirty and musty aroma with some vegetable and sour notes. Flavor is very musty and dry as well. Some nuts and caramel, but mainly bitter and stale grains and hops. Nothing much to it, and definitely nothing special. sinkhole (263) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - JAN 27, 2010
Pours reddish amber with a solid white head. Aromas of earthy hops and roasted malts. Taste is overall bitter with the hops powering over the malts, a tart aftertaste. Enjoyable overall, but nothing special. nearbeer (5559) - Knoxville, Tennessee, USA - JAN 25, 2010
12oz. Foggy caramel-red with a small but persistent film of foam. Mild nose of spicy grain and toffee-apple. Tastes of peppery grain - almost like rye, woody grass, light cinnamon-apple, caramel and a hint of ginger. Some toasted nut (with the bitter shell) in the finish. Near-medium body is smooth and hop-tingly. LinusStick (3497) - Moon Twp, suburb of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - JAN 24, 2010
Delicious beer! I love a good Vienna! Aroma was so so. Usual lager aroma with not much else to it. Pour was a beautiful medium brown with a thin off white ring for a head. Taste was nice. Roasted malt with a delicious strong roasted caramel aftertaste that lingers. Heavy carbonation that chews the cheeks- very nice.

essence of plum and dark cherry. sweet and malty with some caramel and earth in a touch of peppery spice and licorice. finish is decent but nondescript (no hop) with light dishwater. forgettable. Strykzone (7560) - Wood River, Illinois, USA - JAN 22, 2010
The only new stuff at my local beer store. This beer pours a clear caramel with a thick one finger head. Nice lacing. A nice aroma is malty and smoky. Flavors of dry malt and tart hops. Some applesauce, earth. The hops just don’ work with the malt base. halfonit (1392) - Fall River, Massachusetts, USA - JAN 21, 2010
Clear amber color. Aroma is of malts, rice, and dried fruit. Flavor is a little sweeter than I thought it would be. There is some smoke in there, as well as malts, and dried fruit. Leaves a bitter sweet aftertaste. Not too bad. Elwood (3336) - Leesburg, Virginia, USA - JAN 21, 2010
Serving: 12 oz. bottle.
I have to admit, I’ve found Magic Hat’s stuff to be rather hit or miss. This one pours a light amber orange color with a frothy off-white head. The nose is loaded with sulphur and reminds me of someone’s feet. After holding my nose I take a sip. Nondescript and lifeless. Nothing more than slight cracker notes and an acrid bitterness. Overly aggressive carbonation doesn’t help this brew out. It has a light, watery mouthfeel and lacks both body and substance. As I said, Magic Hat is hit or miss and this one is a big airball. Skip it for sure. Odyn (268) - New York, USA - JAN 19, 2010
Pretty good for Magic Hat, since I really am not a fan of theirs. This one starts off with a good deal of hops and then fades into a toffee flavor with almost a butterscotch feel. Lingers a bit, but is still pleasant. Nice light brown color with a toasty malt caramel nose.
