Say hello to the Bearded Lady, our uncompromisingly big and beautiful Imperial Stout. Born from our Dark Arts recipe she uses masses of magical malts to deliver deep chocolate, rich coffee and vinous berry flavours all complemented by a balanced yet subtly spicy hop profile. Powerful, robust, intriguing; yet decadently smooth and sumptuous, the lady demands respect…

Pours pitch black with a brown head. Aroma of roasted malts, licorice, dark chocolate, coffee, hints of berries and wood. Quite intense.

Bottle from Kris Wines. Have kept this for about 5 months. Pours a lovely very dark brown, with a medium to thin foam tan brown head. Nose is quite musty, grain musty, roasted malt, dark fruit, slight fortified wine vinous, slight cheesy, fresh milk, dark chocolate. Taste is strong rich roasted malt, tangy burnt flavours, lots of dark fruit, prune and raisin, alcohol, slight vinous, and then some yeasty, savoury character, soy sauce, salty, and dark chocolate. the finish is roasted malt and soy sauce, with the savoury winning over the sweet. Not getting a huge amount of coffee. More a burnt roasted character.

Tap. Black beer, thin beige head. Nose is roast and coffee, some chocolate and licorice hints in there. Flavor is big and roasty, coffee, chocolate, sweet notes, firm hoppy-roasty bitterness in the finish. Smooth and creamy mouthfeel, lingering roast, sweet hints and alcohol. Smooth stuff.
