COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Say hello to the Bearded Lady, our uncompromisingly big and beautiful Imperial Stout. Born from our Dark Arts recipe she uses masses of magical malts to deliver deep chocolate, rich coffee and vinous berry flavours all complemented by a balanced yet subtly spicy hop profile. Powerful, robust, intriguing; yet decadently smooth and sumptuous, the lady demands respect…

b3shine (9270) - Indiana, USA - DEC 13, 2013
Draft to taster. Looks good for the style; a dark cola with light beige lacing. Smells of dark malt, molasses, and a bit of chocolate and roast. Tastes like it smells with a somewhat thin, average mouthfeel. Not bad, but not good either.

phaleslu (10899) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - DEC 13, 2013
Draft in a sampler at Ei8ht Ball. Pours a deep, near-opaque brown with a small tan head. Aroma of roasted malts, maybe a little smoke, dark chocolate, burnt sugar, and peat. Flavor of roasted malts, burnt toast, dark chocolate, rubber, grapefruit peel, and florals. Medium-bodied, with low carbonation and a bitter mouthfeel. Almost drinks like some sort of imperial stout-black IPA-smoked hybrid beer. I wouldn’t mind trying the barrel aged version to see if that cuts it a bit, mellows it out, balances it more.

Nickls (2617) - Alexandria, Virginia, USA - DEC 10, 2013
Tap. Jet black and a khaki creamy head. Mineral, bitter chocolate, coffee, slightly fruity an toasty aromas. Flavor is dry, bitter chocolate, espresso, tart dark fruit and roasty dry. Medium and silky body.

alexsdad06 (11238) - West Chester, Ohio, USA - DEC 7, 2013
Draft at Ei8ht Ball. Pours a dark cola brown to black in color with a thin beige head. The aroma and flavor have roasted malt, dark chocolate, espresso, earthy bitterness, and a hint of alcohol. Tasty and a surprise to see on the list.

Tmoney99 (15130) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - DEC 7, 2013
Tap sample. Poured a clear dark brown color with an average frothy tan head that mostly lasted with good to excellent lacing. Moderate to heavy roasted chocolate and alcohol aroma. Medium to heavy toasted dark chocolate malt flavor with a medium to heavy dark sweet and small alcohol bite finish of moderate duration. Medium to full body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation. This is a solid beer.

OPIE788 (336) - Ohio, USA - NOV 21, 2013
On draft. Poured dark black with a dark brown head. Smelled like a cold cup of unsweetened black coffee. Tasted like REALLY strong black coffee with a good dry bitterness. Really good but...$10 for a 9oz pour is a bit much.

3.4
nimbleprop (8948) - SouthWest, Washington, Washington DC, USA - NOV 6, 2013
Pours an inky black with some clumpy, soot colored head. Nose has a lot of licorice, toast, brown sugar, malt, a little earthy, cracker. Flavor has a lot of licorice and molasses, a touch of smoke, almost a little sausage fat, malty, toast, some soy, booze, a touch of cough syrup, black pepper. Full bodied, slightly hot, slightly peppery finish. Unique.
