Say hello to the Bearded Lady, our uncompromisingly big and beautiful Imperial Stout. Born from our Dark Arts recipe she uses masses of magical malts to deliver deep chocolate, rich coffee and vinous berry flavours all complemented by a balanced yet subtly spicy hop profile. Powerful, robust, intriguing; yet decadently smooth and sumptuous, the lady demands respect

Draught at Oliver Twist, 11/28/16.
Pitch black body shows light clarity on the edges and a fluffy, dark beige-to-tan head with moderate retention.
Im always extremely nervous ordering beers over 7 or 8% and especially ones this high but I really enjoyed the first Magic Rock I had so I figured Id suck it up and get the 8oz pour. The nose is rich with cocoa, fudge, caramel and ample roast character to offset it. It balances quite nicely, and there isnt any noxious alcohol or huge boozy ester character. Quite vinous actually, but with a "softer" graham cracker and vanilla base malt character that is augmented with light green hop notes and no surplus of acidity from the hops.
In the mouth its fairly thick, though importantly not sluggish or syrupy. Graham cracker, caramel, milk chocolate and espresso vie for dominance as boisterous dark fruits brighten things. Soft, ample carbonation, good attenuation and little booziness. Very nice stuff! Will continue to seek out Magic Rock

Lovely Beer, imagine a dark, Terrys Chocolate Orange Chocolate, with an hint of brandy, in the aftertaste and you have it.

Cask at CBC 2016, yellow session. Pours black, tan head. Roasted malts, coffee, cocoa, wood, peat. However I believe this one was off because it had certain, very unpleasant plastic aroma/flavor probably from the plastic cask it was served in. When I asked the guys tried to assure me it was just peat, but since Ive tried handfull of peated BA beers and whiskys I wouldnt agree on that. Anyway looking at other rates especially at untappd seems something went wrong. Its a shame cause it seems like a very good brew. Another candidate for re-rate.

Cask? @CBC 2016. Poured near black with a brown looking head. Wood diminates totally in the aroma, some roasted elements and bitter chocolate. Flavor has mostly wood as well, some roastedness. Didnt like it at all.

Tap @ Copenhagen Beer Celebration, 2016. Pours black with a creamy head. Nutella, roast, hazel, candy and coffee. Smooth and soft. That artificial feel.
