COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cannonball is an India Pale Ale in the true tradition, high in alcohol and massively hopped to survive a long sea voyage. We don t want you to wait though, crack the cap and let the flavour explode on your palate. Tropically fruity, resinous hops compete against a sweet malty backbone, while a rasping bitterness builds to a mouth puckering crescendo. Our hop bomb might just blow you away

Tap at S&A - strange brew - hoppy nose promised lots - kinda sour taste - not the expected sweet mat/hop bomb - surprising light body - interesting for one drink - just a bit too weird for me.

Aroma of light sweet orange & bitter grapefruit. Hazy golden with long lasting tanned head. Very very bitter like brussels sprouts. Full bodied, oily texture & soft carbonation.

Hazy amber with dense, short-lasting white head that leaves a nice courtain of lace. The aroma is a hop bomb that punches you right in the face. Grassy hops, orange peel, elderflower and pine come into mind. Taste is robust bitter with hints of pine, orange peel, mango and peaches. Some malt towards the end. Thick texture, average carbonation and lingering hoppy in the aftertaste. Alcohol is very well hidden. Delicious and smooth, one of the best recent examples of the style.

UPDATED: JAN 5, 2017 On tap at Vultures Lane. Bitter orange, lemon, pine resin, little herbal. Fairly standard, but I do have a bit of a soft spot for a fairly standard IPA.

330ml can bought at HK Brewcraft in Central.

Looks: Cloudy hazy golden honey colour with a fine mist of yeast particles; Half finger head with soapy white foam which fades in 40 seconds; Excellent sticky lacing with zero carbonation.

Aroma: Very fragrant Ale malt, with rich mango pulp, strong passion fruits, cat piss, orange, grapefruits, candied fruits, papaya, strong floral nectar, sugar, pine, resins, spices, lemon peel and grass. Fruity galore!

Taste: Close to medium sweet Ale malt, with mangoes, fresh grapefruits, strong floral, sugar, strong pine, resins, spices, herbs, biscuits, yeast, strong lemon, quite strong bitter hops and fresh grass.

Body: Full body; Thick, creamy and oozy palate.

Mouth Feel: Full Ale maltyness in a thick background, thick and rich. Hoppy as hell, with nice fresh grapefruits and mangoes to anchor fine floral, strong pine, ooze, spice and herbs. Sweetness is quite strong but nice for a fine sweet and oozy bitter balance. Fairly boozy but tasty Strong lemon to round. Excellent!

Hoppiness: Mango pulp, passion fruits, cat piss, orange, grapefruits, candied fruits, papaya, floral nectar, pine, resins, spices, lemon peel and grass in nose. Grapefruits, mangoes, strong floral, strong pine, resins, spices, herbs, strong lemon and fresh grass in taste; Bitterness is strong for a lasting. High Astringent sweet-bitter herbal malty finish.

After taste: Fairly dry. Fruity, oozy and strong bitter to mouth.

Comments: This one is a full-on West Coast IPA, with Simcoe and Citra in lorry loads for that amazing mango aroma and nice fresh grapefruit taste. With good looks, nice sweet malts fine-tuned hoppiness and well-expressed booze, this is the template for a great modern IPA. Two thumbs up!

Thanks to Dennis from Mnnerabend! Cloudy amber beer with short white head, smell is overripe tropical fruits, taste citrus and tropical fruits, medium bitter, oily, full body, long finish with bitterness but not too much, (I have 0.33l can with batch 1236 and best-before 02/04/17)

Incredible, Piny, dry, awesome IPA. Not on the fruity side, but instead a powerful hit in the face. One of the best european IPAs Ive tasted and on par with very good American ones. Absolut starkes nadelbaum-lastiges IPA. Empfehlung fr jeden, dem zitrus noten zu wenig sind. Super trockenes finish. Eines der besten europischen IPAs.

Taste is medium sweet malt, light caramel, medium+ fresh hoppiness, citrus grapefruit, some fruit, peach, pine, maybe bit harshness, medium+ bitterness, dry finish. Medium bodied, average carbonation, oily.
