Dark Arts blends 4 malts and bags of whole hops to deliver a decadently deep and indulgent experience. A luxuriously smooth mouthfeel, is followed by spicy hop notes and full flavours of chocolate, liquorice, blackberries and figs. The finish is rich and satisfying with a lingering roasted bitterness. Our stout will convert you to the dark side.

Can. Black with short lasting foam. Aroma and taste is dark malts, roasted and sour coffee. Aroma is weak. The taste also has a touch of soap or minerals witch I dont enjoy. Thin body.

Draft at Khyber Pass. Opaque back pour that started with a good show of khaki foam but reduced quickly to a soft ring and left no lasting lace. Not much aroma. Dark malts. Carob beans. Glossy chocolate liquorice. Black currants. Cold coffee. Desiccated walnuts. Vanillin. Charcoal in the finish. Distinctive but feels more like a strong Porter than a Stout.

From cask @ the brewery. Black colour with medium tan head. Roasted malts, chocolate, toffee and coffee in the aroma. Average to low carbonation and medium body. Taste is medium bitter and medium sweet with chocolate and earthy notes. Dry and roasty finish. Overall, a very good beer.

(Magic Rock Dark Arts) Tap at In De Wildeman, Amsterdam, 250 ml, served into a teku. Black coloured body, dark beige head on top, a bit thin, with good retention though. Aroma has light roasted malts, bitter chocolate and faint coffee. Taste is nicely bitter, lots of dark chocolate, some fruity, hoppy notes, roasted malts and light coal on the finish. Medium body with good carbonation, pretty dry on the palate. Very good.

Can. Black pour, thick tan head. Aroma of roasted malts, chocolate, caramel and some spices. Flavor is slightly bitter, slightly sweet, loads of chocolate and very smooth and well balanced. Subtle but powerful, very nice.

33cl can. Pitch black pour with a thin beige head. Smells like roasted malts, chocolate and hops. The taste follows the same notes, a nice mix of chocolate bitterness, hop bitterness and caramel sweetness. Medium bodied, medium carbonation and a roasty bitter-sweet aftertaste.

rauchbier (3870) - Isle Of Beer, Lincolnshire, ENGLAND - JUL 15, 2016
Can, from Message in a Bottle, Cleethorpes. Jet black, thin but lasting coffee beige head and gentle condition. Pleasing sweet coffee, liquorice, blackcurrant and some earthiness in the nose, full bodied in the mouth with sweet liquorice, sweet creamy coffee and fruit offset by a roasted barley bitterness and some peppery spice notes, finish is long and sweet but tempered by a low dry bitter roasted barley note.

Milk chocolate aroma. Minimal head disappeared quickly. Well roasted but not extreme.
