High Wire is our tribute to the Pale Ales of the West Coast of America, beers unapologetically hop forward in character. Let your taste buds walk this test of balance. Mango, lychee and lip-smacking grapefruit flavours harmonise against a smoothly composed malt base, which develops into a crisply bitter finish. Are you ready for our tightrope of taste. .?

Served in a snifter from a 330ml can. Pours slightly hazy golden-orange colour with a medium off-white head. Aroma is a wonderful combination of tropical fruits with clear notes of citrus, orange, grapefruit, mango and orange, then subtle peach, caramel, grass and pine resin are coming up with the second sniff. Taste is very crisp and clean with citrus, orange, tropical fruits and grass, slightly spicy with a long citrus-hoppy bitter-sweet finish. Medium body with slightly oily texture and soft carbonation, very well balanced. Very nicely crafted APA, will definitely have more of this fantastic brew!

Cask at The Knott Bar, Manchester. A clear golden colour with a medium white head. Aroma of grapefruit, pine, mango, orange, subtle peach, some caramel and slight grassy, herbal hops. Taste of grapefruit, pine, orange, some mango, a little lychee, slight caramel and subtle grassy, herbal hops. Medium bodied and an oily texture. A big, dry, grapefruit and grassy hop bitterness in the finish. A dry, flavourful and citrusy west coast pale ale. Big bitterness and some sweetness to balance it out a little. A great, hoppy, cask pale ale.

Cask at the Bunker Hill tap takeover during Nottingham craft beer week. Pours cloudy orange with white top. Aroma of tropical citrus but lemon zest wins. I accompanied it with the house nachos to test its west coast credentials and it can survive jalapenos. Taste has a malt base with plenty of pineapples on top. If we had California sunshine in Nottingham regularly I could be converted.

Can. nose is mango, lychee, caramel, faint hint of banana and cream. Taste is lychee, tropical fruits, pineapple, leading to a moderate pine bitterness, and grassy, malty caramel finish. Well balanced and perfectly executed.
