High Wire is our tribute to the Pale Ales of the West Coast of America, beers unapologetically hop forward in character. Let your taste buds walk this test of balance. Mango, lychee and lip-smacking grapefruit flavours harmonise against a smoothly composed malt base, which develops into a crisply bitter finish. Are you ready for our tightrope of taste. .?

Can;t get any better than this for a Pale Ale - gorgeous hop aroma and even better taste, a perfectly harsh bitter aftertaste to finish off the zesty, criso nature of this excellent beer.

Served in a snifter from a 330ml can. Pours slightly hazy golden-orange colour with a medium off-white head. Aroma is a wonderful combination of tropical fruits with clear notes of citrus, orange, grapefruit, mango and orange, then subtle peach, caramel, grass and pine resin are coming up with the second sniff. Taste is very crisp and clean with citrus, orange, tropical fruits and grass, slightly spicy with a long citrus-hoppy bitter-sweet finish. Medium body with slightly oily texture and soft carbonation, very well balanced. Very nicely crafted APA, will definitely have more of this fantastic brew!

Can bought from magic rock’s website. Very drinkable. Slightly hazy which is nice. Very hoppy. Has a nice fruity side.

330ml can. Right up there with some of the best pale ales that I’v tried. Will need to re-rate this as it was a while ago and cant remember exactly how it tasted. Just know that I loved it.

Cask at CBC, London. Pours clear gold with a foamy, white head. Big hop aroma, tons of pine and grapefruit. Medium sweet flavor with a lot of bitterness to balance out. Plenty of pine and grapefruit, some mild honey and caramel, toasted straw. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Mild warmth in the finish, orange and grapefruit citrus, some grass and mild pee, toasty malts and sugar. Incredible. I can’t really imagine this beer being any better.

Birra ottima, rinfrescante e piacevole.

I had this on keg at Madness, and now especially eager to have it on cask as well. It is a quintessential American pale ale; quite perfumey and fruity. The finish, though certainly not devoid of hop character (there is quite a lot), is impressively crisp and refreshing.

330ml Bottle from Vino Wines, Edinburgh (£3.25):
Fruity to begin with, a strong helping of tropical fruits hits you first followed by some lighter pine notes and a touch of grapefruit. Very hoppy overall and backed up with some nice mango and passion fruit. A very summery and refreshing smelling beer.
Bright amber with a finger sized, bubbly looking head that takes an aggressive pour to form but manages to have nice retention.
Tropical with a lot of fruity flavours up front including some mango and bitter grapefruit as well as some pine hops and the usual citrus hops. Like the taste this one comes across as very refreshing and easy to drink with a nice bitter finish.
Light medium in body but definitely not watery, there is a lot of bitterness and plenty of sweet, fruity notes with a good refreshing well and a nice citrus tang.

Definitely one of the best I have ever tried, this one had it all really. Plenty of citrus and tropical fruit notes with just the right amount of hops and bitterness. There was a great, easy going and refreshing feel to the beer and I managed to work my way down it in almost no time at all.

UPDATED: FEB 25, 2017 I’ve tried this in bottle, can and keg. Hazy golden body with a thin white head. Light carbonation. Great lacing. Aroma of pine, lychee, biscuit and lemon rind. Flavour of herbs, pine, caramel, lychee, grapefruit and mango. Medium to full body with an oily mouthfeel. Light carbonation prickle. A hop bomb with lots of pungent, tropical flavours coming through. I could still taste this 15 minutes after I’d finished it.
