Meet Cannonball’s big brother; we used more malt, more hops and more magical conjuring to crank up the flavour of our explosive IPA ‘Cannonball’. Get your taste buds ready for massive pine and candied orange aromas combined with bitter/sweet grapefruit and mango flavours all complemented by a deeply composed, satisfyingly malty base. Ever wondered what it feels like to be shot out of a cannon? Here’s what it tastes like…

On tap (keykeg) Sheffield Tap 20/07/11. There’s something about a pint of Double IPA at the arse-end of an evening. A statement of no return. A declaration that I now give my tastebuds over to a beer so it can have its wicked way with them and damn the consequences. And it’s... dense. Not chewy - none of that overtly-crystal sweetness that makes beers like this seem like hard work to drink for me. Just concentrated, slabs of pine and spice, aromas of steeped fruits with the occasional whiff of a well-matured mango chutney. The great thing about ordering a pint was allowing the flavours to uncurl. The keg temperature doesn’t help the beer, but flavours that started out as distinct country cousins at the beginning eventually intermarried into something refreshingly incestuous. Or is that just the bollocks I write having downed a pint of it? I’ll have to wait til it gets bottled, get the banjo out and try it all over again...

Orangegul, disig, vitt skum.

Buonissima. Alcol appena percettibile, mostruosa.

Tasted after cloudwater dipa citra so was not expecting too much. However, it is excellent, very hope, but a wonderfully complex flavour with lots of depth. Much better than its very good younger brother (or sister?) Love it. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Can from Hippo Beers, Glasgow. Beer served in 9°C, Duvel Glass. Pours hazy amber, little head, disappearing completely after short time. Aroma is filled with passion fruit, grapefruit, mango, peach, tropical fruits, resin and bubble gum, candied fruits. Flavor is juicy and exotic, with spruce, pine, peppery and spicy taste, strong hoppy bitterness on the malty sweet, glucose like base. There is some alcohol in the flavor, but noticeably less than in Un-Human version. Beer with character, uncompromising and interesting.

Can from Bridgend Services, Freuchie. Pours with a murky haze. Muted orange, darkish amber. Thin, off-white head that fades fast. Deep jammy orange marmalade nose. Very ripe tropical fruitage. Dried mango, over ripe pineapple. A hint of passion fruit. Some heat from the abv. A little musky resin. A little cheesy. Heady stuff. Taste has a solid malty sweetness upfront. More of that orange maramalade with a nice bitter bite. Fresh orange juice. A little mango juice too. Pithy bitterness crawls across the palate. Really quite assertive. A little pepper and spice from the alcohol. Slick, oily palate with good weight. Subtle carbonation. Really dry and bitter on the finish. Magic!

Amargo seco resinoso, cortezas y agujas de pino en grandes dosis. Cuerpo intenso con gran sensación alcohólica 9.2 vol. Para repetir sin duda.

500ml can. In a Kwak yard glass. I wanna say that I hope Huddersfield win the play-offs and gain promotion to the premier league. Piney Christmas tree nostalgia upfront in the smells..nose also shows pungent dank sappy mango, orange pith. A warning hoppy dividend in this beers flavour ,and it’s just as the nose promised.. rich, sappy, big is better emphasis.smooth. there’s just enough refreshing dryness to complement the powerful hop power. This is an excellent imperial ipa.

500ml can from Beer Ritz. Hazy orange amber colour, white foam head leaving lacing and aroma of juicy tropical fruits, zingy citrus, resinous hops. Taste is sweet malty, caramel with mellow mango, fruity floral citrus, tangerine, orange zest, grapefruit, resiny pine, hoppy bitterness. Smooth mouthfeel, medium bodied, soft carbonation, dry tangy bitter finish. Very tasty DIPA.
