Euston Tap. Opaque dark brown - black beer. Tiny pale tan head. Smooth palate, a little soft. Very fine carbonation. Nice palate! Mellow dark malts. Mild minerals. A little bretty seltzer, pretty mild. Creamy white wine - well blended with the creamy dark malts. Finishes soft and semi dry. All comes together really well. The best Magic Rock beer I’ve had to date.
Keg at the Euston Tap, London. Pours rich black with a creamy, tan cap. Dark malt nose, mild roast. Medium sweet flavour, some dark pine, bit of licorice, sweet bread. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Mild sticky finish, lots of dark fruits, bit more licorice, some juicy pine, ripened grapefruit, toasty sugars. Quite a dynamic brew. The dank hoppiness of the standard 8 Ball has been softened, and this beer has a bit more dark fruit character. Tons of depth here, and it is very drinkable. Tap at William IV (Magic Rock takeover) 10/12/12.
Very dark mahogony brown in the light, light black otherwise. Thin tan head that leaves some good lacing.
Nose is pine, malts, touch of chocolate, Bretts evident, liuqouirce, berry fruit - blackcurrant fruit pastiles being the dominant fruit element.
Taste follows, blackcurrant fruit pastilles at the fore, some pineapple and light tropical tones, pine, hops.
Medium bodied with soft carbonation, pine evident in the finish.
Really good stuff! Scopey (15475) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - NOV 14, 2012
Keg at Euston Tap. It pours very dark brown, with a medium beige head. The nose is floral (particularly rose), Pic N’ Mix sweets, Parma Violets, bubblegum, permanent marker pen, grape juice, oak and a hint of toasted coconut in the background. The taste is roasted malt, brett, charcoal, spice, ash, dark tangy fruit, berry (esp. blackcurrant),earth, light metallic notes, oak, jam, cola, pine, resin, liquorice and white wine with a dry, earthy finish. Medium-full body and moderate carbonation. Wow there is so much going on here...great depth of flavour and well balanced to boot. A delicious and well-crafted brew.

Keg at the hanging bat. Pours black, nose is woody, pine, grape, taste is similar, tart, fruity. Rune (13375) - Tromsø, NORWAY - DEC 3, 2012
From keg at Euston Tap, shared with Finn. Fragile lacing from an almost naked surface. Cloudy, apricot coloured body. Dried fruity aroma with dark grapefruits. Taste of bitter liquorice and of semi-sweet pumpkin as well as a backdrop of dark chocolate. Lingering bittersweet ending. Medium bodied. Rather heavy to drink, but a tasty one (London, 05.11.2012). jackl (8297) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - DEC 10, 2012
Keg @ Port Street Beer House. This was listed as ’8 Ball Brett’, though I’m pretty certain that it’s the Chardonnay brett version as it had the flavor profile of a BA beer....The pour’s deep brown with a tiny head. The nose is charred grain, light funk, vinous red berry. Earthy meadow, barnyard. The taste is woody vinous wine barrel. Smooth red berry. It’s almost like a fruit compote that someone’s ashed a cigarette in. Buggy flavors on the finish. Smooth, supple body. Pretty great. Very interesting flavors indeed. Keg at Magic Rock Tap Takeover William IV; almost black with small brown head, funky hoppy aroma, tropical fruit hop taste with a grassy yeast undertone, really enjoyed this BIPA.

Euston Tap, Euston 5 Nov 12. Aprikosfarget. Lavt luftig skum som fester seg litt til glasset. Bra søt fruktaroma. Smaken er aprikos. God. Bra fylde. Litt uvariert og tungdrikkelig.
