COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our Black IPA fuses speciality malts with a tropical punch bowl of new world hops to deliver a contradictory yet cultured concoction. A classically ‘pale’ aroma and quenchingly fruity palate belies a broodingly dark and deceptive appearance. Can a beer be both ‘black and pale’? Time to consult the Magic 8 Ball.

UPDATED: JUN 25, 2015 Keg / Royal Albert / New Cross / £6.50. Dark brown appearance with a slightly beige of white head. This beer has an amazing hoppy aroma, more so fruit & citrus rather than pine or grass. Taste wise it reminded me a pale ale with a bit of roasted malt. Amazing well balanced. One of my favourite beers

Davros (3258) - Melbourne, AUSTRALIA - JUN 18, 2015
Pours dark brown with a large, lasting head. Nose shows soft roasted and toasty malt along with a bready character and spicy, piny and fruity hops. Similar flavours, with more roasted malt and caramel followed by a massive resinous and piny hop hit.

Tap. Very dark brown, almost black color. Nice red hue. Medium size, beige head, stays. Hoppy, fruity, citrus, faint roast in aroma. Nice aroma. Hoppy, citrus, fruity, grapefruit in taste. Fruity hops in aftertaste. Medium carbonation. Medium bitterness. Light body. No alcohol detected, but then again I’m pretty drunk. Nice drinkability.

Keg in the Heaton Hop, Manchester. Pours deep brown, almost black with a cream head. Sweet pineapple aroma. The taste starts bitter with spice and lots of pine. Underlying coffee and chocolate. Delicious.

Keg at Sheffield Tap. Yep magic indeed. Malts come through in the last third. Über hopped and unctuous. Resinous, not super tropical but vegetal. A velvet beast.

Stuu666 (14531) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - FEB 18, 2015
Keg at the hanging bat. Pours black, nose is greapefruit, roasted, taste is dry roast, fruity, dry toffee.
