COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our Black IPA fuses speciality malts with a tropical punch bowl of new world hops to deliver a contradictory yet cultured concoction. A classically pale aroma and quenchingly fruity palate belies a broodingly dark and deceptive appearance. Can a beer be both black and pale? Time to consult the Magic 8 Ball.

Keg in CP&K, Pimlico. Opaque black/very dark brown, foam off white 1 inch head. Nose is big and bold. Lots of hop - tropical fruit, pine, eucalyptus, earthy, shoe leather and shoe polish. Its the earthiness that is making this work for me. Taste is earthy, christmas tree pine, menthol and eucalyptus, roasted malt, new shoes or that smell you get in shoe repairers and on the finish its grapefruit citrous bite. Probably the best black IPA I have had.

Bottle. Black with beige head. Massively hoppy nose. Flavour is also, enormously hoppy. Like a tropical swamp. Passion fruit, grapefruit and pineapple. Resinous. Mild roasty dark malt flavour permeates the hops. Inevitably bitter finish. A tidy beer.
