COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our Black IPA fuses speciality malts with a tropical punch bowl of new world hops to deliver a contradictory yet cultured concoction. A classically pale aroma and quenchingly fruity palate belies a broodingly dark and deceptive appearance. Can a beer be both black and pale? Time to consult the Magic 8 Ball.

Cola-like color: clear brown/red, near black in glass, creamy off-white one finger head and nice lacing. Fruity hoppy aroma has citrus, tropical fruits, bit pine, dark slightly roasted malt is sweet: bit dark caramel. Good aroma. Crisp feel is bitter with citrus-pine dryness, bit roasted coffee, dark dry chocolate and ash, smooth but tingling, long dry-bitter finish. Well done tasty IPA that has lots character and nuances.

UPDATED: OCT 31, 2012 Bottle at home. Deep black pour, quite stout-like with a creamy tan head. Nose is big on hops, grapefruit, passion fruit, hint of mocha coffee. Similar flavours, intensely hoppy, juicy grapefruit, smooth rich mouthfeel and a resinous hop finish. Fantastic example of the style.

From tap at Borefts 14. Pours hazy dark brown with a small to medium off-white head. Aroma is quite fruity, some roasted malts, chocolate, nicely balanced. Taste has quite some roasted malts, fruitiness, red fruits, bit of chocolate and a medium bitter finish. Medium body and carbo. Nice stuff.

Grifo. Vaso Nonic @ Freiburg (LHospitalet-Barcelona). On-tap. Nonic glass @ Freiburg (LHospitalet-Barcelona). Pitch black color & deep ruby tints to the light headed by tan foam. Creamy crown & some lasting lacing. Herbal, burnt aromas & black bread hints. Licorice, bitter & roasted flavors at first. Medium body. Moderate carbonation. Oily & dried mouthfeel. Slight buttery flavors, sharp hops, resins & wood resolves in a long bitter finish. Involving bitterness linger into the aftertaste. Refreshing & flavorful!!

Meravilgliosa, al naso sposa perfettamente, la parte maltosa con quella luppolata, con armonia e delicatezza. Anche in bocca si conferma molto bevibile...
