Bottle at home. Pours black with thin tan head, nice lacing. Nice aromas of of coffee, mango, exotic fruit. Lovely flavours of coffee, juicy mango, dairy milk or cream as well, real passionfruit. Lovely smooth mouth-feel. Another Magic Rock winner. wyzzywyz22 (2108) - Wirral, Merseyside, ENGLAND - FEB 21, 2012
Bottle, Beer Ritz, Leeds. Black pour with a fading tan head. Enticing nose of resinous hop, citrus, roasted malt, brown sugar, and dark choc. Full bodied smooth and slightly oily mouthfeel. The flavour similarly displayed a winning combo of citrus hop bitterness and roasted notes. Maybe a hint of smoke lurking alongside more choc. Loads to admire here. A belter of a Black IPA.

Bottle, mybrewerytap.com. The beautiful ripe mango aroma is utterly at odds with this beer’s black appearance, but it really works. Against a background of smoky roasted malt the opposing flavours combine to produce a full bodied hop lovers dream, with plenty for the stout fans too. Lovely oily hop aroma comes in late on and there’s a long, rich bitter finish. swooper (1247) - Cambridge and Kladno(Czech Rep.), Cambridgeshire, ENGLAND - APR 13, 2012

Opens with a heavy fruity aroma, pours almost jet black with a large off-white / purple head, which reduces soon after but retains a foam. Lots of fruity & malty hops in the taste, more sweet but some bitterness coming through at the finish. Quite soft carbonation with a slick palate. The first black IPA ive had and it is excellent. far more hop punch than a lot of regular IPAs out there and with that colour, you’re just njot expecting it. the maltiness offsets brilliantly against the tropical hit of the hops. great beer. This is up there. Really is quite splendid. Black and pale, like my arms. You should see what I’ve got planned next. Love Magic Rock. Beerheart65 (1503) - Pori, FINLAND - JUN 24, 2013
Cola-like color: clear brown/red, near black in glass, creamy off-white one finger head and nice lacing. Fruity hoppy aroma has citrus, tropical fruits, bit pine, dark slightly roasted malt is sweet: bit dark caramel. Good aroma. Crisp feel is bitter with citrus-pine dryness, bit roasted coffee, dark dry chocolate and ash, smooth but tingling, long dry-bitter finish. Well done tasty IPA that has lots character and nuances. daje (4436) - NORWAY - JUN 27, 2013
Tap at Haand festival 2013. Black bodied, beige head. Aroma of roasted malt and tons of fruity hops, light chocolate and salt licorice. Taste is massive citrus hoppy, coffee, leather, dry and clean bitterness, very nicely balanced. Refreshing bitter aftertaste. A great brew!
