UPDATED: JUL 16, 2016 Can. Nose is fruity, red berry, orange, modern tropical hops. Taste is malt, orange, leading to grapefruit, lime, the body is malty, biscuit, toast, hazelnut. Mouthfeel is full. Reminiscent of black IPA in the use of modern hops alongside a different body. It?s alright but I can?t get excited by amber ales, however kindly I’m asked to try it...

Keg tap at the Cambridge Blue. Reddish amber, clear with a small off-white head. Resin, toffee, forest floor, a touch of banana in the aroma. Bittersweet taste turning quickly to a sharp bitter, with more resinous hop on the finish. Perfect tickly carbonation. A veritable godsend to an amberphile like me. 33 cl, can fermented. Dark reddish amber, loads of sediments, medium tan head, nice lacing, low carbonation. Aroma is nicely hoppy, with grapefruit and citrusy notes. Mouthfeel is bitter and a bit oily. Flavours of red and dark fruits plus some pepper and spice. Not a huge fan of this one... caesar (7101) - Bunnik/Utrecht, NETHERLANDS - JUN 29, 2016
Can @ cafe Derat, large sample. Hazy amber color, short frothy head. Aroma of caramel and toffee, piney and grapefruity hops. Toffee sweetness, caramel fudge, but also hoppy bitterness. Wonderfully balanced and caramel body is big enough to make it complex and very tasty. Awesome brew. elbernays (1479) - Dublin, IRELAND - JUN 26, 2016
