Can from Fountainhall Wines. The beer pours with a light haze to the peachy gold. A tiny white head but in general it looks light and refreshing to the eye. The nose is all gentle and mild. There’s a light caramel air mixed with little sweet vinegar. A sweet maltiness swirling around. The flavours are sweet and sour. There’s toffee, tart green fruitiness and a softness in the realms of peach and apricot. The beer feels light and effervescent that sings refreshment with its dry finish. The salt presents itself in the fashion of an isotonic sport drink so it’s nowhere near as off putting as I expected. In truth it aides its cutting refreshment. This would make an awesome summer’s beer garden drink.

330ml Can from Good Spirits Co. Wine & Beer, Glasgow (£2.20):
Definitely an unusual one from Magic Rock & not the usual type of beer I’d go for, I pretty much picked this one up to check a gose style beer off my list but the beer wasn’t all bad in the end. Opening with a lot of salty flavours & a huge amount to sourness too, there was lemon & some citrus in the early going with a tart & almost acidic backing but it wasn’t exactly a lambic style taste. It was a difficult one to drink at times, mainly due to the sourness & how dry it was but it was probably still worth trying if only for the novelty of it & that it was something different.

Rancid taste. It’s like someone has canned some home brew and selling it as ’craft’. Clearly better at graphic design than brewing.

Pours hazy straw, not too fizzy, small soapy head and some lacing. Aroma is floral, with strong gooseberry. Tastes slightly tart, very crisp and refreshing, with strong gooseberry, salt, malts and hops don’t overdo. Light beer, perfect summer material, tasty and enjoyable. Light bodied, soft carbonation, thin feel, astringent finish. Not bad at all!

Hazy medium golden colored with small off-white head. Wet hay with wheat, sour fruit, lemon peel. Tangy, wheat, a bit of fruity sweetness with a mild tart follow.

Tap @Luppolo Station (Rome). Hazy deep golden pour, medium white foam. Nose is slightly lactose, with hints of hay. Mouth: softly salty, tasty, dry and smoothly tart. Balanced. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Can at home. I didn’t like this due the fact that all I could taste was salt and nothing but salt. No gooseberry! This is the first time I’ve tried anything of this style so can’t comment on the style

Refrigerated 12 oz. aluminum can poured into a glass. Hazy golden with small white head. Aroma is esters, light soft body, medium carbonation, and good small-bubble lacing. Taste is esters, some tart, and a little salt.
