keg and bottled, special annual release
Our sumptuous golden Barley Wine Strongman hails from the same brew as our annual release IIIPA Un-Human Cannonball . Using just our house pale Golden Promise malt the beer is then judiciously hopped with Centennial, Citra and CTZ whole hops in our hop back. However instead of assaulting the beer with dry-hops we then carefully age it in freshly emptied Amontillado Sherry casks until its ready to take the stage. The resulting beer is golden in colour with a rich pungent aroma and full palate, which gives way to rich fruit and brisk nutty flavours. Best drunk slightly cold a dry yet balanced finish delights the taste buds while a warming finish brings the curtains down

660ml bottle from Ales By Mail. Very thick golden appearance, small sticky foam. Aroma of some overdone fruits and bit of alcohol. Taste follows aroma.. Stiff package to drink alone :-) Changing scores to down, goes for the worse direction.. If drinkin only one glass I think this could get better points? Dunno.

660ml bomber shared @ Shrewsbury Beer Share, May 15, courtesy of Simon. Pours a deep, hazy orange, minimal head. Tropical yoghurt aroma. For a 12%er this wasnt quite as boozy as expected. Prominent fruity citrus and dried fruits. Quite drinkable for the ABV.

Bottle shared with Barry, purchased from Cotteridge, consumed at home Friday 15th May 2015 Hazy gold actually very much hazy. Thick in mouth, real pithy, and yet also sweetness is there. Fruity with a clear citrus element (sweet orange) but as already stated rather pithy in that respect. A little sherry and really warming, yes its a strong beer but its very drinkable. Bottle. It pours hazy orange with a medium off white head. The aroma is apricot, oak, hops, sweet malts and orange marmalade. Boozy malty flavor. Lots of fruits and oak. Hops kicking in at the end. Interesting but hard to actually drink more than just a few glasses.

Bottle @ Aarhus tasting. Unclear matt orange with an off-white head. Aroma is sweet, malty, caramel, oxidized, dark fruit and alcohol. Flavor is very sweet and moderate bitter. Sweet finish with lots of alcohol. Somewhat boozy. I normally like Magic Rock beers, but this was disappointing. 240914

66cl, at 12%Vol, as Magic Rock No.3 Strongman, new exclusive English brew Anno 2013, thx alot to Koen for bringing this over!, very complex brew, alcoholic/fruity/sweet and slightly woody/floral/bitter, heavy, yet balanced, cloudy, good head, good brew, yet expensive!

lusikka (7812) - Tampere, FINLAND - APR 26, 2014
660 ml bottle, thanks me, myself & I. Pours a dark orange colour with a small white head. Aroma of sweet caramel, raisins, sweet orange and wood. Flavour of strong sweet caramel, rubber, wood, orange juice, raisin and strong boozy notes. Full bodied and a strong, sweet, wooden and burning alcohol finish. Not very well balanced. Un-human was much better as-is.
