Euston Tap. Cloudy rto muddy red brown beer, tidy pale tan head. Not a pretty beer! Smooth semi soft palate with fine minerally carbonation. Very creamy malt with a streak of grain. Big skunky hops. Traces of citrus and red berry fruits. Finishes smooth and semi dry. On the face of it this should be a very good beer. But it’s a little to grainy and the hops a bit too skunk dominant Still not bad though!
Keg at King Bill IV, London during the Magic Rock event. Pours rich, amber-brown with a tight, creamy tan cap. Nose holds dirty earth and pine, toasty bread, toasty grass. Medium sweet flavor with lots of pine, earth and dirt, some burnt grass, rich toasted brown bread, very light dried berries. Medium bodied with average, smooth carbonation. Moderately resinous finish with toasted pine, dry berries, mild warmth, rich brown bread. Good and ballsy.

On tap at Kick. It’s an unclear orangey brown beer topped by a dense, finger-thick light beige head. Orangey, resiny nose with a toffee-ish, almost coffee-like touch. Hints of liquorice too. Very bitter, in a pleasant way, with toffee and coffee in the back. Resins and pine cones. Medium to full body, quite dry. Lasting finish with lots of bitterness. A quite pleasant one, but lacking a bit on balance, although I understand that’s not the goal. 130117 Scopey (15431) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - OCT 7, 2012
Keg at IndyManBeerCon 2012. It pours cloudy red-brown, with a medium yellowish beige head. The nose is full of sweet red fruit: strawberry, cherry, lychee, as well as jam, pine and varnish. The taste is pine, resin, assertive bitterness, jammy fruit, lots of red berry, varnish and resinous hops, with a smooth, ballsy bitter finish. Medium body, moderate carbonation and slightly sticky mouth-feel. Wow! Balance is brilliant and alcohol is well-hidden. Delicious and utterly drinkable. Can these guys do no wrong? gunnfryd (15175) - Kristiansand, NORWAY - DEC 23, 2012
