Cask at the brewpub. 4.5% AbV. Poured a clear dark orange color. Head was white and left some nice lace. Smelled of light brown sugar with lots of malty caramel and graham cracker. Smooth mouth feel. Flavors included graham cracker, caramel, and lightly smoked malt. Another tasty bitter. JoshRaburn (721) - - DEC 31, 2015
An authentic British bitter in great condition on cask. Nice blend of lightly toasted malts and UK variety hops. The best cask beer I’ve had outside the UK. jrob21 (3809) - Atlanta, Georgia, USA - JUL 7, 2017
Sample at the source. A little smoother. Less spice and corn sweetness. Mild hops. A little medium bitter on the finish. badlizard (5533) - Berkeley, California, USA - JAN 8, 2010
Clear golden with a fizzy white head. Malty grain aroma and taste with a rich vanilla malt finish. Good. Nate (4296) - Indiana, Pennsylvania, USA - MAR 23, 2010
On cask at Magnolia. Very mild subtle biscuit and toast. Very little hops on the nose. Dark amber clear with foamy-sudsy off-white head. Medium light body with cask carbonation. Starts and stays mild with light caramel, Maris Otter and apple skin. Mild fruity hops. A bit chalky on finish but overall goes down smooth. A well balanced bitter.

On tap at the brewpub. Pours light copper with a rich beige head and a toffee aroma. There is a slightly watery caramel malt flavor with the requisite dry bitterness. Very drinkable. DYCSoccer17 (3708) - Woodland, California, USA - JUN 16, 2013
10 ounce sample on tap at the brewery last weekend. Spicy and grassy hop aroma with light underlying sweetness. Transparent orange-copper body with a small, light tan head. Starts with some cereal-like flavors. Light toasted malts follow. Lightly sweet caramel, too. Finishes with low grass hop flavor. Pretty drinkable. j12601 (13114) - Poughkeepsie, New York, USA - JAN 23, 2016
On tap at the brewery. Pours a clear amber gold with a thin white head. Soft sweet malt on the nose, nutty and toasty. Medium-bodied, malty, nutty and crisp. Easy drinking, soft bitterness into the finish. chibuck (3521) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - AUG 11, 2011
Draft... Medium clear copper, nice light tan head, great retention... Smells great sweet toffee with vanilla... A touch too watery, more toffee, sweet note is gone, a light bitter finish... Solid BMan1113VR (7929) - Los Angeles, California, USA - MAY 16, 2011
Rating from tap (cask was available as well). Pours with a completely clear penny hued body with a small and resilient bone colored head. Aromas are bready, toasty, estery. Diacetyl (butterscotch in this case), hay and a low hop aroma. Flavors are nutty, husky, bready, with an assertive bitterness. Some astringency. Faint esters, a touch of diacetyl (that seems to contribute to a fuller body). Bitterness is a bit grabby. Medium to short duration. Medium bubbles. Decent body, with a bit of slickness. A touch of minerallity in the finish.
