Our tribute to Cologne’s unique, crisp, golden ale/lager hybrid. We start with German malt and hops and tie it all together with a true Kolsch yeast from Cologne to impart some subtle fruit and wine flavors while producing the smoothness of a lager. Served in an authentic Kolsch stange to enchance the crisp, cool, effervescence of this thirst-quenching beer. Malts: German pilsner, Munich and wheat Hops: German Spalt and Hersbrucker

On tap at the brewery. Pours a clear gold with a thin white head. Sweet, fruity, and floral on the nose. Medium-bodied, grain, a bit of sweetness. Soft grain, a bit of crisp cracker malt. The fruitiness is faintly lurking in the background, but not as sweet and bright as on the nose. Crisp crackers into the finish.

On tap @ the brewery during San Francisco 7/7/14 beer tour. Pours a clear golden appearance with a white head. Cauliflower, cooked corn, straw aroma. Sweet, grainy, cooked cauliflower flavor. OK, it’s not good but it’s at least not gag inducing.

Light and crisp like your best kolschs. This one is more floral with a subtle sweetness. Tried at the Mikkeller bar in 2014.
