On tap @ Magnolia poured a nearly opaque dark brown with a lasting amber headf. Aromas of carmel, dark fruiut and biscuit. Palate was medium b odied and smooth. On tap at the brewpub. Pours murky dark amber with tan head. The aroma is mild with smooth dark fruity esters mixing with a subtle sweet maltiness that’s a bit musty. The taste is smooth dark fruitiness, some black strap molasses, old musty sweet malts and a dash of caramel here and there. It tends to get a tad bright now and then. Pours a ruddy brown with a thick but shrinking beige colored head. The aroma jumps out as cherry hard candy with hints of malt and molasses. The flavor is punishingly alcoholic but tasty with sweet cherry, caramel dense maltiness with a strong toasted bitter finish. Nice one, if a bit tough to drink.
