Huge smoke profile, but it in fact doesnt contain any smoke at all all of the color and roast is from the dark roasted malts. Itd be killer with a dessert made with really dark chocolate.

On tap @ Magnolia, pour is a huge deep black with a puffy brown head that dissolves to nothing. Smells of slight chocolate, grainy coffee and deep malt. Taste is malt forward for a stout, and a nice blend of bitter and succulent sweets. Nice body, and a deepness to it that makes it a sipper for sure

Thx! for sharing. Sampled draft @ Delirium Hoppy Loft. Black with no head. Nose is hugely smoked soy sauce, varnish, light nail polish. Taste is glue, varnish, soy sauce, sugar, nail polish, herbal chocolate, heavy umami smoke, Thick syrup body. Odd with the vanish, nail polish, smoked soy sauce notes, Potentially polarizing but I am not a big fan of umami forward beers esp. coupled with odd notes like here.

Draft. Not much here for such a big beer. Thin body, thin flavors. Some tobacco, some dried fruit. But pretty faint.

On tap at Smokestack Magnolia. It pours a dark brown/black with a tan head. The aroma is fresh pumpernickel bread, dark chocolate and a little coffee. Light licorice notes as well. The flavor is super smoky with tobacco, dark chocolate, fig, prune and a heavily roasted finish. Very thick, full body. Tasty.

UPDATED: OCT 24, 2014 Sample at GABF 10/03/2014, thanks to my sis for assistance with note-taking. Flat black color with a medium khaki head that recedes steadily. Small patches of lace. Aroma of roast malt, chocolate and coffee. Full-bodied with flavors of charred malt, black coffee and dark chocolate. The finish is roasty with a burnt malt aftertaste. Pretty good overall.
