Our most popular dark beer is a hearty, chewy oatmeal stout (8% oats in the grist). Lots of body, as you would expect coming from the West Coast oatmeal stout tradition. The dark, roasted character is caramel- and chocolatelike with a decided smoothness. Hops are, again, an assortment, and come across mostly in flavor and aroma, not bitterness.

On tap at the brewpub. Pours black with an off-white head. Outstanding and complex finish that I really can’t identify. Has all the requisite flavors of roasted malt, coffee and chocolate. I drank this while eating Hama Oysters and it was awesome.

Near black with light chocolate aroma. Chewy, fudgey but a bit harsh on the black malt bitterness. Alcohol creeps in late as well. All over the bloody place.

Draught at the brewpub. Very black. Milky, toffeeish chocolate aroma. Sweet with near full body and mellow mouthfeel. Notes of tar, inky bitter finish. A bit rough around the edges.

Hooker (468) - Coquitlam, British Columbia, CANADA - JUL 4, 2005
Clean black colour with thick creamy chocolate brown head. Strong roasted malt nose. Big roasted malt taste with lingering dry hop finish.

no great surprise that the stout was the pick of this brewery´s beers. pleasant coffee aroma, light black, hint of molasses and golden syrup but not a lot of guts
