Cask - had this before with some awful vegetal off flavours, but seems to be better now. Pours amber with a creamy beige head. Aroma of caramel, spinach and a little mint. 568ml Bottle - Amber/copper in colour. Nuts, earthy hops and caramel in the aroma. Nicely balanced taste with walnuts, hazelnuts, caramel and dried fruit.

Cask (handpump) at the Great British Beer Festival Day 2, August 2009. Copper colour. Some dry, slightly smoky malt. Contrary to the commercial description, I found more malt than hop. A fairly down-to-earth and not particularly attention-grabbing Best Bitter.

Clear medium yellow amber color with virtually none head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, apple, nutty notes. Flavor is moderate sweet and light light bitter with a average duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is flat.
