Bottle from Real Ale, Newark. Amber colour with a thin off white head. Aroma is nutty, caramel and malts. Taste caramel fruit. Nice enough bitter.

Cask - had this before with some awful vegetal off flavours, but seems to be better now. Pours amber with a creamy beige head. Aroma of caramel, spinach and a little mint. Cask (handpump) at the Great British Beer Festival Day 2, August 2009. Copper colour. Some dry, slightly smoky malt. Contrary to the commercial description, I found more malt than hop. A fairly down-to-earth and not particularly attention-grabbing Best Bitter.

Clear medium yellow amber color with virtually none head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, apple, nutty notes. Flavor is moderate sweet and light light bitter with a average duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is flat.
